ok well its plainly just being a bitch

i get a constant error under xp

"bad direct sound driver" i ran the direct x manager and still no sound BUT if i change the microsoft equaliser to SBL equaliser and test i can hear the test song playing perfectly fine i apple the results but again i still get bad direct sound driver

the error says exactly this
"Crossfading Direct sound output V1.37 error" (is the title)
Bad direct sound driver. Please install proper devices or select another device in configeration. error code 88780078"

now my sound used to work i know that but every now and again 1 outa 5 start up maby i would get that error (from winamp) and all my volume controll would be fadded out and that was fin coz i would just restart and all still worked but since it has completely stoped i was wondering if anyone hase a permanant soloution to the problem

PS: i know its not a harware thing cos its running with no probs under 98

delete the sound card from device manager and let the computer redetect and reinstall it?
