Ummm if you dont get any other anomalies during computer use, then i'd say it'd just be GTA3...as you can see here http://www.gamers-underground.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4520 cause theres a couple of probs with the game. Also www.hardocp.com have a setup or trouble shooting kinda guide. Check that out as well.
I would expect if you have dodgy ram you'll have probs copying files and other little problems.
Hope this helps a little. :)
Physical memory dump means.......(restrains himself from the obvious joke).....
your computer is simply "dumping" what is in memory to a log file to be analysed (read: deleted  ) later on.
But, if you want to donate some "dead" memory sticks to me, let me know!
Okay well i played cs last night on the ram and it played good 100 fps blloody great
i open a text document and did alotta copy and pasting untill it said run outt of memory and didn't get blue screen so maybe its still good
and at the moment im copying 2 gig of another machine on network so maybe it might still be good after all
and just hates gta :(
That could be it....
Yeah im guessing probably GTA3. They even say it has problems with certain types of mb. I only got my copy working properly last night, but no problems yet...touch wood (in the material used for building stuff sense). :P
Find and download a utility called memtest86 (the webpage seems to be down right now, i have a copy somewhere tho if you need), it will religiously test your ram and find any faults with it. I doubt your ram is the cause of the problem, since bad ram is typically associated with many, apparently random faults, whereas yours appear to be specific to GTA3.
I have had the same problem before in 2k. Although I never found the exact problem, I seemed to have solved it by getting more ram  Since that I have never seen this problem occur again on my computer. BTW I can sometimes see it on other ppls computers with 2k when they have shit all ram (eg 256). Sorry Korny 256Mb ram isnt realistic with new OS and games  . Take Aliens vs Predator 2, it uses 300Mb ram  CS will run fine because its old and will run on basically anything 8)
If you cant stretch out for some more ram try getting one of those ram enhancer programs. You see Windows stores information into your ram continuously until it runs out. With Win98/Me it just freezes or Blue Screens and 2k Blue Screens saying Dumping Physical Memory. If you have a program that continuously cleans out that useless crap your memory will go further.....get what I mean :?:
