Which comps start at which times?? We should really stop the "can we wait till they get back from dinner? or the "lets play tomorrow shit" we should try to get the comps done before ppl are too tired to play well.
Can anybody flog a projector?? it will be useful for putiing hltv on. and of course for messages and movies later on. And GTA3 :D
The reserve play should be able to come from anywhere(other clans). So i guess Zereaper will be everybodys reserve then :P much easier to make sure 5 players get in for a match this way.
Well Knight, take for instance Warcraft 3 it went gold before it was even released. Didnt see CS do that! It's no doubt though that Cs will dominate it'd just be nice to see DGA being versitile in what it has to offer.

WTF??????? he has organised a lan and the servers most wanted by us people and he has other things on top of his sholders than to set up servers for every 3rd person that wants a different game to be there just do as he said get together with others and find out who else wants to play that game than organise it with them poor tn1 has other things to worry about any if anyone else thinks different try organise the biggest LAN in the NT let alone every ones little server requests
Hmm if you organise things now you'll probably have a much greater chance of actually playing them at DGA too. Once it's ogranised it's pretty much done.. all you have to do is get the people to play it. And once it's done this one time people will take it more seriously/see how fun it was, etc, etc.. and more ppl might want to play and then it might even become a more major part of DGA.. but yeh.. I'm just talking shit..
But CS does dominate, I play fps games. But not just CS, I play most of them..
@ Evo 1, we tried to even get a game of Tribes 2 going..
I think we had 3 ppl playing and thats with 100+ ppl attending.
There were a handfull of quakers, a handfull of MOH players.. But all the rest were playing CS..
CS dominates all LANs.
What about V8 Challenge @ the lans ? get a hadfull of ppl RACING !! We have done it here in SA before, its cool having everyone racing cars instead of lead injecting heads.
I agree with the idea of diversity. BUT, Howie is busy organising things, this is the DGA forums after all.. Start a thread yourself and advertise the games U think would be good. If U get a good feedback, band with these ppl during the event, start a local server and have a good game..

Once you guys come forward saying that you want a COMP for a specific game then yes I am sure DGA will cover you for that .. You just need to tell me the game(s) you have decided on and I will cover the rest .. And if you can't get hold of me CrazyC is the other man you want to see .. I am not at 15 but will be at EVO2 ..

Okay the craZy one has stirred......... I for one am always open for a game other than CS. Unfortunately i do not like the role playing style of game. That does not mean I do not play them. In the 8-9 or 10 DGA's i have attended I have always attempted to get something different going. Being Car Sims, other FPS, RTS, Mind Challenges hell I even tied to gete Ten Pin Bowling and Chess going. What it always boils down to is numbers, you have to get numbers involved to hold serious comps. Other than that organise a match and let everyone know. If they will not listen I WILL MAKE THEM LISTEN, then let nature take its course. Spero you are most definatlely not being disssed here, you have just delved into the age old problem of Darwin Lan people.....
Well I reckon its about time DGA was given the oppurtunity to expand it's horizons. I mean FPS are great and all but if you ask me the same people win them any time. It'd be awesome to beat the people good at fps at a rts. I mean seriously idiots think they are all that just cause they head shot me 10 times in a row :P

I asked for a RTS competition not a server. He looked down on me like all people who are obsessed with FPS are. I got a little cut that I was disregarded so easily. I got mad I retaliated. And Sly I dont need to be told what I said was wrong AFTER i apologised thanks.
telstra guy .. Hell i had the ADSL running thru our proxy server on Sunday lunch, and the telstra guy was booked to install it on Monday :), so he rang me on monday arvo and asked if he needed to come round and install it ... i was like HAY damm you. i am tn1. my Network runs just fine thanks.
Moral of the story, get tn1 to install your networks .. haha ..Need sleep :(
A Server of such wouldn't work... but all you need is a neutral to host the game and just spectate not play. Neverwinter nights whilst addictive wouldn't work tournament wise. It's so easy to create a bias oppurtunity.
As for the layout Unseen Ill get it to you after DGA 15, me and Coco have some ideas that we are going to talk about then.
One thing I would like though is could somebody make one of those form registration pages. 2v2 Warcraft 3 is the tournament.
And place it on the DGA site and EVO registration site. I just dont know how to make them. Just write on it, that the tournament depends on the players interest. If not enough register then we wont play it.

Ive gotta ask, is there a particular time that comps will start on sat/sun/mon. I don't mean the exact time and the duration of each comp but more like around what time you guys will start holding comps jon sat/sun/mon so we all know approximately when to be there to play....... OR will it just be until admin on the spot say "bugger it! lets start the comp". :) PS if you gonna post can you do it friday afternoon, thanx!
For the CS comp (at least), there should seriously be some spectatoring going on on the final match. That would really give the final a more... professional feel and make the stakes feel like they're higher.
