I signed in with XIS on the 23rd of June, and they billed me immediately for that month, which I was a little annoyed. They claimed I would recieve two e-mails, one confirming my purchase of account, and the other sending sign-in and dial-up information (IP address, DNS server, phone numbers etc). I recieved the confirmation letter (a receipt basically) instantly, but I didn't recieve the other letter, dispite sending two e-mails to their customer service e-mail (which both returned form letters saying my claim was being "investigated"). In addition, I've been billed for this month (July) as well, it's now the 6th of July and I still have no dialup information, and my request for refunding of June (where I was unable to connect) has gone completely unanswered (not even a form letter; whoo).
Does ANYONE out there know how to dial into XIS so I can use their damn service?
Sounds like a subsidiary of Telstra, I think it is about time you should travel down to their HQ and throw a brick (with a letter attached listing your greivance) through their front window :)
i had so many problems with XiS. originally it was ok, the speeds were bearable and i could live with it because it was unlimited.
then faults started to appear that they didn't fix, constantly. then they would lie...and then lie...and then lie some more. ie one of their excuses was that i didn't know how to set up my connection correctly in order for it to work...
i immediately cancelled the service and went with internode.
XiS then charged me a fee for cancelling the service (which was not mentioned ANYWHERE) they then charged me for three months access even though i had paid them already. then on top of that i recieve a bill after being with Internode for a little over a month for an extra months access.
all up the bill was a little over $200.
went to the TIO and gave them my story, they are now being investigated by not just me but over 200 others that were duped by the adsl service they advertised for.
it then took them many many emails, faxes and phone calls (although their phone centre is constantly unable to be contacted, in fact my phone company states that i have rung their 1300 number more than 400 times since i began the service...) and another month for them to giv eme my money back...
*end nightmare*
whatever you do wolfspirit, get the fuck away from the company and go for somebody else....quick.
also, ring the TIO and explain the situation. you can also get your phone company to print a statement proving that you have not dialled into their POP in darwin.
still trying to get money back off them from that adsl fiasco. charged me a setup fee one month in advance and a modem that didn't work so all in all $400+. Never ever go with XIS there was a thread on xis a couple of months ago and in that I wrote never go with XIS. Damn I cant say one good word about them they lie and cheat ppl outta their cash and then provide a substandard internet connection if they manage to give you one at all.
