I'm interested in getting a few URLs to sites that either sell hardware (companys based in australia please, though I probably don't need to tell you that) and sites that review it.

The the moment I have

Reviews
Toms Hardware Guide
[H]ardOCP

Distributors
EYO Technologies
Online Market
GameDude - yes, I'm aware they can be untrustworthy
CWS Supplies

This thread will also hopefully inform others as well.

Sif buy from pcrange, their website is crap :P

amazing customer service from Cougar and the widest range of products i've seen in aus from one place. a little more expensive than a lot of other places ie cws but the range and service are exceptional.

eg. i ordered something through them and i ordered the TNT road freight: it was more expensive than the Australian Air Express freight and would have taken a week longer. they changed my order, informed me, refunded the amount back onto my credit card and then rang me when the shipment arrived to make sure that it was safe..

;) highly recommended.

fairly cheap, do have specials sometimes, also based North and South of Brisbane, they deliver as well.

The rest i have are mostly wholesalers and dont deal to public
i usually get my stuff from GALANT[dx] for wholesale cause he works at computer shop in Windsor.

Hope some of these help.

Post 12

I've never had any dealings with buying stuff from there. I've just had... business with the owner.

Post 13

pcrange is one of my suppliers.. I know what Ruin is talking about, and I understand his displeasure with the owner..

Post 14

hay u blokes at Frountline IT Solutions got a site up yet?

or planing on gettign one up?

Post 15

im going to mention coolpc, but only to say that they suck cock.

Post 16

PCCG Am god. Anyone able to say bubblewrap? Definitely excellent service and delivery.

However my downfall I bought from CoolPC recently. What did I get.. umm some of the stuff I paid for, still waiting for an email reply for where the hell my stuff went.

I've also been thinking recently (the train takes a while) of asking to put up a User Review forum where people could post up their own reviews on buying stuff, or products they have and possibly the misceallaneous.

Post 17

I just had to say it again. PC case gear, go buy from them and they update regualary. Even in COD my stuff usually is sent within a) the same day I placed order b) The morning after (I got a reply that my order was being sent at 1am).

Oh yeah and CWS they sent me a wrong order via COD off by about "00 I simply called them up sent the stuff they sent wrong back and they paid for a courier to personally deliver the items to my door.

I belive they are working on their site as we speak. dont have an ETA,
DGA site has a link to there email address, if you wish to ask them any questions.

Post 19

My experiences with Onlinemarket are good, their prices are a little bit higher than the rest but they have a very extensive range, and so I used them to get the parts that weren't available at EYO (who's selection, particularly on motherboards, was thin at the time.

Of course, one incident doesn't really prove anything.

Post 20

PCCG rock i have ordered 2 things and have got here very fast

Post 21

Post 23

coolpc are shit. simple, if you buy from them then....*sigh* you are in for a bit of a painful experience...

Post 24

Painful, I'm still awaiting an email on where some of my stuff went

Post 25

I bought my window kit and some fans from coolpc.com and it went fine. My luck i suppose - this was a while ago however.

And yes ruin, unfortunately our first encounter with pcrange.biz wasn't one we enjoyed, but could only be learnt from.

Post 26

I used to deal with cougar in Canberra when i lived there. They were very good but now charge extra for pick up :( . They were often quite expensive and often i buy parts from Computer Markets.

Out of interest Tec Chips is now called Tech Chips, and they are also having a do at the Novotel on the 8th of August. Any of you guys going?

PS Any decent local distributors you guys use?

Post 27

Palmerston Bits & Bytes offer very good prices, Frontline IT TTBOMK doesn't have as good prices but are closer and have good customer service.

These guys aren't bad, very good delivery and regular updates if somethings not in. Some prices are a bit large but usually free shipping. Plus they have a couple of thing i havent been able to find anywhere else. (ps/ps2 to usb converter :) )
