Lilu am sick

for those of you who have met my other half Lilu (Aka Lisa) she was admitted to the Royal Darwin Hospital last night suffering Pneumonia combined with an "unknown" chest infection.. any wellwishing would be greatly appreciated, cause she is feeling pretty bad atm.

Crikey... That's not too good... Hope she gets better soon. Pneumonia sucks :( At least I'm just coughing and have a bad head, not stuck in hospital :(

Yes for anyone in the chat room last night, it explains why I didnt think the fact that Terms cold has spread thru the ppl @ the LAN very funny..

When your friends end up in hospital, it loses its humour..

Meph - was she at the LAN at all? Because I have been following people's episodes with this bout rather bemusedly, but as Slyfox said, when it gets this serious, it's no longer funny.

The reason I ask, is that if it is mean enough to send someone to hospital, then perhaps I should be taking it a bit more seriously. I have also got a minor chest infection (although not serious enough to knock me around - yet), but I'm starting to get concerned because my two little girls have come down with it too (especially after what has happened to Lisa).

Keep us posted how she is.

It was her 1st LAN too ( gee what a fond memory she will have ).

And Lisa was fine before the lan, the bug she has now, she caught @ the LAN.

Ok I didnt relise this flu was so serious though I know its an evil evil strain it hit me really hard Sunday and Im still recovering today.

The thing is can we really put the blame on Terminator, I said it at him because i was hanging around him and he was sick and it was a jest!

The thing is turns out Crazy C was also sick before the lan and TN1 was sick the week before and I was around him. If you think about it you can be carrying the germs and not actually be feeling the symptoms. For all I know I caught it off TN1. Ask anyone I was all happy chirpy SperO till about 6pm then bamn out like a light.

Darwin is a small place its easy to spread a virus. Just dont put all the blame on Paul. I probably spread half the germs myself. Soon as I felt the symptoms I went home but.. theres always a but...

Someone passed a comment in the chat room last night about how it is so funny that Terms cold has spread throughout the community..

By this time Lisa was already in Darwin Hospital.

So I said "Well its not really that funny"..

Nothing more, nothing specific..

And that point this cockless wonder said, "well I think its funny, so deal with it"..

@ which point I was ready to lose it, or leave the chat..

Because I think I was one of only a handfull ( if that ) of people who knew how serious it was, and the fact a good friend was hospitalised because of it.

I left the chat..

I didnt recognise the name of the person who said it, but JJJJJJJJ and Harb should know who I mean. I know they were actively participating in the room at the time ( not just idling )..

Anyway, this Mephs gonna print out this thread and take it into Lisa to hopefully chear her up.. So lets not analyze this too much.. Post your support for Lisa.

This post shouldnt be about baiting everyone, or saying how callous a person can be. We shouldnt be blaming anyone for making her sick. Its about feeling sorry for Lilu. She is sick and why argue over ways it could have been prevented. Its happened Im sorry I was there spreading germs.

Seriously, I was mostly joking about him spreading around the virus.. Lilu and I both got hit by the same thing at around the same time, it hit me hard, but not hard enough to slow me down - Lilu just got unlucky is all - apologies if my shitstirring hit a nerve on his part.

Mind you, I'd love to find out who dropped that smartassed comment about it being funny - maybe then I can make sure he/she/it has an extended stay in the RDH emergency department so they can see how fun it is first hand.

DOH, This is getting worse for me by the minute.
I have been awake for literally about 4-5 hours since monday night till now, I cant feel my head, nor can I hear whats going on around me, I have a sore throat a nice chesty cough (because of this I have missed 2 days of school, have had to sit a 2 hour exam feeling like complete sh*t), I almost reckon I could be in hospital.

So get well soon, I think I know what your going through.

I wasnt smurfing and Sly Fox took it all to seriously. I didnt say it was funny that Lilu was in hospital I didnt even know she was in hospital. I said it was funny how the virus hit the whole lan.

Half the people who have responded about the flu have responded in jest. And I was out sick as well hard core, I missed half the lan. And I laughed at my own pain

You all need a chill pill.

And PS Lisa I hope you get better.

hope u get better the both of u....i havent been on the forums since the lan....i got sick the last day 24hour headeaches no sleep..well little sleep for 2 days now...hope everyone that got sick gets well soon..

i think i should go into hospital... see if they can put this lung back in that i coughed up :(

well i've got a bit of balance left, nose is blocked from the tip to the bottom of my spine, sore throat comes and goes and i can melt thru steel doors by leaning on them :D

but i cant afford to miss uni lectures so they r ALL DOOMED... DOOMED
most of em went to the lan anyways so bleh.

sorry SperO - I spent a grand total of 9 odd hours on Tuesday from 2am to 6:30am on Tuesday morning, and then again 9:30ish Tuesday night to 2:30am Wednesday morning watching my other half barely able to breathe while we waited for a doctor to pull their finger out and come see us, so please forgive me if my temper is a little frayed this week..

I think everyone can understand why you may have been just a little out of the ordinary.. lets not forget that sometimes it's the seemingly little and insignificant things can turn out to be deadly serious!

Keep us updated on the matter..

I do hope that Lisa gets well soon.. not that I know her but I really do dread being sick these days (and luckily it's been a year since I last got sick) and I hate for anyone to even to have to suffer the mildest of colds anymore...

Well thanks for the well wishes guys! meph really didnt have to tell the whole wrld, but thats fine :)
Wow i didnt know the virus was so out of control. while i was in the hospital (both oublic and private) a bunch of nurses that i had said that heaps of people have come in with similar symptoms to what i had, im waiting for some big newspaper headline with a picture of a monkey or something??!
So once again, thanks *heaps* and i hope everyone else who is sick out there gets well asap. (plenty of water and panadol for those high fevers!)
