Anyone heard the new Coldplay album "A Rush Of Blood To The Head"? It has to be one of greatest pieces of work from an artist I have ever heard of, I recommend everyone to get it!

Dude, how can you classify an album from Coldplay as

*sighs*
Post 5
LOL yeah they suck, Disturbed owns you :)
Not to mention U2
Post 6
I can't say that I've (at least) knowingly heard anything from that album Phatgaz.
The only song I know I like from Coldplay is the one with the guy walking along that beach (somewhere in Victoria I believe) the name of which eludes me now. I would never choose to listen to it myself but on the rare occasion that I do catch it on the TV or radio I do listen to and can appreciate the song for what it is. I think it's great.
If any of you have ever seen Jabba's spoof of that song on Channel [V].. I hope you would agree it's very funny :). I don't think they show it anymore though as I wouldn't have seen it in at least say 6 months.
MARTOK: I don't mind a bit of Disturbed here or there either. Hypocrisy, Opeth, etc.. they're all good :)
My taste in music is VERY varied.

You people have had your minds fucked by the media - I really shouldnt expect too much free spirit and "individualism" tho - just wishful thinking maybe.
Shame, cause its actually quite a good album.
Your loss.

Well put Overdrive :D

Music is not about who wrote or who sings it or who drums ... etc.
It is wether you enjoy the experience of listening to ... does it elevate you to a greater level ... or does it make you puke?
Another question to ask ... is it written with the record company in mind or is it written because the band actually like the song.
Pink Floyd - Learning to Fly ... with appropriate medication ... is quite an experience 8)

With the last post in mind, Disturbed are crap!
Post 11
Also you can put music into 5 catagories
1: Rush out and buy the album
2: Listen to it happily
3: Turn it down
4: turn it off
5: Smash the radio into tiny peices ... Celine Dion has this effect

1 thing to say...your like what you like... I pretty much like everything, if its either a good beat, or guitar rif (spelling?) most of all its a voice that gets me, you cant beat the sound of a good voice.
and yes cold plays second album is good, much better than travis' second try i'll give them that.
Post 13
i like coldplay they are a great group
i also like stone sour =D
Post 14
Coldplay isnt in my short list but i do enjoy occasionally listening to it
Post 15
I gotta agree, I got the album yesterday, and I reckon its great. I put it in the "rush out and buy it" catergory.
Post 16
I think i shall put it in the "omg there's blood coming from my ears switch that shit off before i kill you with this spoon category" :D
Post 17
Hey Disturbed Rocks, dont Know em.
Coldplay are alright but i wouldnt think to myself, damn i want to listen to that coldplay song, i'll put it on. Where as I think i need to put a cool song on, whats a cool song, ah i got it Disturbed - Down with the sickness :D
Post 18
...no no no, you've got it all wrong :)
it's Meaning Of Life you were thinking about
btw yes this album is good and usually i will only buy albums coming into the 'Heavy Rock/Metal' genre...:)

Hello Yellow was one of the most played songs last year. If I was fucked by the media I should be in love with them.
The song irritates the hell out of me, the lead singer has the most annoying voice ever.
Take enimem for instance, I hate rap, I hate everything about him but I found his last song and stan strangely addictive.
I still hate coldplay, if I like any of their songs when i hear them ill probably dl them.
Until then... kill all that is yellow
Post 20
Spero the "fucked by the media" comment was about individuality and free will NOT a single being overplayed.
I don't like that song either personaly, but I took the time to hear their other work and love it.
I'm just glad "I" can do that.
Once again - your loss.

I am afraid that I am with OD on this one if you base your opinion on yellow you miss out it is the worst song on the albulm.
I awake to find no peace of mind,
I said, how do you live as a fugitive?
Down here where I cannot see so clear.
I said, what do I know?
Show me the right way to go,
And the spies came out of the water,
But you're feeling so bad cos you know,
and the spies hide out in every corner,
But you can't touch them no,
Cos they're all spies, they're all spies.
I awake to see that no one is free,
We're all fugitives,
Look at the way we live.
Down here, I cannot sleep from fear no.
And if we don't hide here,
They're going to find us,
If we don't hide now,
They're going to catch us where we sleep,
And if we don't hide here,
They're going to find us.

oh well. what can one do....
im a beleiver that if a band's first releas dosnt get me then i wont go out of my way to look for other things by them.
sometimes it happens that i like one song and hate all the rest and sometimes it is vice versa...
life's like that people.
If one chooses to not listen to the music that another person likes, then so be it.

well for me the only band I have found where I just don't like them is the cure but even then I haven't minded to much when my mates wanna listen to them as I just go elsewhere (easy way for them to get rid of me) and their track did go well with in the context of the crow (movie soundtrack)
cold play I can live with never going to be their biggest fan but do like their music and have seen them live. live they sounded just like the album and I didn't think they put on much of a show just stood there and played their songs!! still nothing wrong with the occassional coldplay track in my playlist.
