Post 3

rings a bell but what ever happened to gumbi and pokie? you know those little plastacene models and gumbi was the green dude and pokie was the orange horse? i used to love that show!

Post 4

So many old shows, I was very young then so I only really saw the late 80's stuff (Born 1984, would've been old enough to remember around'87-'88).

Vaguely remember He-Man (by the power of grey skull??) and Gumby. Not enough to really care but I do remember them.

Post 5

Dont know if gumby is still around but Odyssey has Gumbi as his chickens in Italy :)

Post 6

Lol, and when people are morphed into chickens on my computer they are all Gumbi :P

Post 7

Yeah funny seeing gumbis running around, just remember shoot their feet not their head :)

Post 8

he-man for the boys, she-ra for the girls.
All the good old classics.

Post 9

She-ra was for the girls?!?...oops

Post 10

sounds pretty good..saw a G-Force ( Battle Of The Planets pilot-Episode or Episodes ) DVD at local Best Buys here..will jot that down on (have to get) items for He-Man Animated Show...no interest in getting the <motion picture version of it though>

Post 11

Alright!! He man was my fav as a kid, i'll have to track it down. Speaking of G-Force (battle of the planets), has anybody seen how the series has been massacred? I caught it on Cheez TV a few years ago, and its been re-dubbed and renamed, and its total crap. Hopefully they will return it to TV sometime in its original format (we can only hope)

Post 12

Oh, the redone version of G-force is called "Eagle Riders" for those who are interested.

Post 13

ive forgotten the name, but somebody might be able to remember it.

the series was a anime that used to be on in the early mornings, in Cheez TV i think. it had a main character, who was one of those "lone wolf" types, he piloted like a robot sorta thing, similar to an eva, but his robot was only twice his size, and he fitted into it similar to a suit. he fell in love with some chick, who had a daughter n they lived on a farm. he had a couple of other mates, and they had those robot things too. they fought a couple of times in space and stuff.

i think the name incorporated "robo"

any ideas? id love to get my hands on this series if anyone has it

i just remembered, when the guy would get into his robot, he'd sorta "sync" with it, all these red lines would appear all over his body.

i know this might sound weird, or look as if im on drugs, but id really like to find out about it! i just looked up robotech, and i dont think it was that.

Post 14

I think I remember that ^_^ I think it was called Technoman or something.

Yeah, it was Technoman. Cool series, I saw every episode of it, but then I accidentally slept in on the morning of the final episode and missed it :(

Post 19

Hell yeah i remember He Man and all them cool cartoons from my youth.
He Man (new series) is getting a pretty good rap in the US. But that could be cause the have either not seen the original or have forgotten it.

As for gumbie and pokie, well without giving too much away about either gumbie or myself.
Lets just say that he looks real different in person and wearing a gimp costume.

trust me, i grew up with the original, and have seen the new, and i love how true to the old they've stayed, i spent the first 15-20 minutes of getting warm fuzzy feelings every time i saw someone i recognised (which was all of them), literally evoking this reaction 'OMG ITS RAM-MAN, OMG ITS MEKANEK, OMG ITS RANDOR, OMG ITS ORKO', etc etc. Thankfully its not done similar to the new transformers, with stupid bug eyed looking anime style characters.

Post 21

Astro-boy was cool! but, i must say, the cartoon of my youth was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! rah! go Raphael!! WHOOO!!!
any cartoon where the major pastime of the hero/s is eating pizza has got to appeal to kids =)

Post 28

the ORIGINAL Transformers was the best, i still have my Optimus Prime transformer toy, and the orange firetruck guy, whatever his name was

are you able to buy transformers on DVD/VHS?

Post 29

wah cow! I've still got my optimus too!!

Except one of his legs is a little big damaged.

Post 30

:D Retro mania! I remember most of them as I also was born in '84.

Remember Astroboy when it was on the ABC

Remember Agros Cartoon Connection with many of those shows such as he-man in the morrings, Saturday Morring Cartoonshows.

What the hell happened?! Why is their only crap on Mornings and Saturadys especially in the NT which only plays primarly CH9 crap shows! Down south was better but why is their so much BS these days?!

My Parents have A CD with heaps of Toon soundtracks from 1960-1990

yep. both the movie and the first season i believe. i have the movie, mate has the first season (on dvd). i also have the first season in avi, and a few other episodes also.

when i was in melbourne last month, i stopped off in some comic store in the mall i think, and instantly handed my credit card to a friend to stop me buying up the entire collection of transformers/masters of the universe they had on display, it was religious i tell you, religious.

Post 32

great link BrAiN DaNcE
thanks...

Post 33

You guys still have Optimus Prime, I still have all of mine. 8)

Who remembers TransFormers on the Commodore64?
[Image: http://www.c64gg.com/images/T/Transformers.ss.gif]

Post 34

i was so happy when i got my optimus prime, it was the same day we went to melbourne for a trip, bugger though, i ended up losing all my wheels off the little buggy that came in the trucky thing-a-ma-jig. i also lost the missles things for the other thing-a-ma-jig :)

Post 35

Yeah i had Optimus with his trailer too, lost it many years ago though :(

Also had the yellow volksy guy too :)

Post 38

Im looking forward to getting a look at this new He- Man series. sounds good
as for the Transformers. They killed that series after they killed off megatron and optimusprime.

Post 39

i disagree, the series didnt really start dying until they started introducing all the stupid headmaster shit. and it didn't really die until beastwars.

Post 40

Yeah Bumble Bee, thats the one :). i think i also had Blur, funny in the movie :)

And yeah it died when they made beast wars.

Post 41

I have TransFormers the Movie on my computer, don't ask for it though as my connection is slow and unreliable.

Post 42

remember when i first got all 6 of the Constructicons to form the all mighty Devastator and showing it off at show and tell..and only until recently i lost MixMaster the 6th Constructicon that forms one of the legs
also had the Autobot Legend Alpha Trion...when i saw him in the G1 Episodes The Key To Vector Sigma 1&2 and i think also in
The Return of Optimus Prime Part 2" and "The Rebirth Parts 2 and 3"
i think...
G1 was by far the best Transformers..have all beast wars and beast machines episodes and although it not up there and pretty much *died*
the last few episodes of beast wars when they are all in the Ark ( Orig Transformer Ship that crashed in to earth ) and seeing all the old autobots in thier lock status mode was pretty impressive-Optimus-Bumblebee-Jazz-Ironhide and Brawn.there were others but could only regonise those
and then when the predicons went under the oceans and found the Decepticon's Crashed Ship ( The Nemesis ) and seeing Megatron-Soundwave-Starscream-Shockwave and Thundercracker i think the blue jet decepticon in there..it sent a chill down...might spend one weekend and watch all the Generation 1 Episodes-Beast Wars and Beast machines just to understand the stories more..
fav transformer char's was Optimus Prime-Starscream-the awsome size of Omega Supreme transforming into the city was breathtaking...

i saw a episode of the new transformers that is on cartoon network now a month or so ago on early sat morning when getting international news..think it was called Transformers Armada..dont know much about that one..but could not get enough of transformers and the cities of gold

Post 43

I own Omega Supreem, he is cool. And Megatron and Galvatron are also cool.
I wish I had Shockwave, he was cool, they were all cool.

voltron rules

Post 47

The Vehicle Voltron was good and i think Star Blazers would be after that show early morning in the 80's
Where they had the Air Sea, and Land Teams that they each have thier own vechile and then the air, sea, land would have thier own symbolic vehicle and then they assemble to form voltron

was'nt there a episode where the LION and the VEHICLES appear together.

When i left darwin i remember seeing a 3d voltron

Voltron: The Third Dimension or 3D or Cgi..not to sure..around 4:30pm i think on 8 or 7..based on the lion voltron..looked alright

Time to form Voltron.
Activate Interlocks,
Dyna-Therms Connected,
Infra-Cells Up,
Mega-Thrusters are Go.
"Let's Go Voltron Force!"

Post 48

Alpha Trion also appeared in 'War Dawn'. (i am currently ripping 12 Transformers Videos to mpg (2 ep's per video)). woo

Post 49

Ahh, memories of a misspent youth *sniff*
