Well it's been a week, but the DHS (Darwin hardware sales) site is up. I have had a few people test fun it, and all say that it seems to be right. The new site has prices and a little bit more info.
The address is http://darwinhardware.yoll.net/ and e-mail is darwinhardware@hotmail.com
So please check it out, and even get in contact about some stuff. The prices list is complete except for the motherboards, which i exect to be finished with in the next 20 to 30 mins.
Please pay a visit and let me know if there are any bugs.
yeah delivery is free and the mobo site is going up in about 10 mins, jsut finishing it now. and i do the warranty, i jsut send it back to supllier and the resend me out an other one
tn1... site link is fixed korny... it all depends on the value of the product/s you are ordering, its it something under 300 to 350 then no i wont need a down pay ment, but if its over that then yes probably, just for security reasons.
Alright everyone first shipment has come in and it seems all went well. That is except for the fools working at Australia Post. Just the shipment was a little bit late.
So hopfully some of you will see a little trust, and see that its not dodgy. Just dont have an ABN because i jsut gotta get a little business to back my self up with.
(Jay - Easy... easy.... :P) Yeh I bought a 60gig'r through Timmy. All was good, slight delay due to aust post, but otherwise..... Good price and delieved to my door step :)
i got some info about my ABN, i dont need one, well not unless i earn over 30 grand this finacial year. If it looks like i might then i will get a ABN, but untill then i wont need one.
So it's safe to order stuff. Umm, I didn't say but reciepts are made up for the products, these are incase the products are faulty or are not what you ordered.
Again, the sites been updated a little, nothing too much.
Generally, you only require an ABN if you expect the job/business to be a source of income, if its simply a hobby then you only need to fill out a declaration stating that fact, as to a reason why you are not adding GST to your price.
That said, an ABN somewhat 'legitimises' the business, in other peoples eyes.
U require a ABN as a business so U can claim the GSt back that U pay for stock..
Also any business that purchases stock off of a company that does not have a ABN cannot claim back their GST credits, and prolly wont want to deal with that company..
well i checked it out, and i knwo ppl that used to work at the business plaace, and he said i didn't. but i do replace anything thats not right. sometimes you jsut gotta trust people :)
Neo did and got a HDD :), but yeah, when i get some business and it looks like im ganna need a ABN then i will. All the products or 100% working, and if not they are replaced.
and as i said, need to earn over 30 grand a year for tax and GST.
On your "about" page it goes on about darwin gamers this may put people off who are not into games. maybe change it to darwins people in general and not just the gamers.
If I were you I'd also register a domain name and get something a little more secure than a hotmail address. .com's are easy enough to come by, and if you can get an ABN, then you can also grab a .com.au for a reasonable price.
alright people i ahve been to the ABR (australian business registy site), and it says that it is not manditory to have an ABN. they are used to keep acout of all the businesses in australia.
I dont want to get an ABN straight away because then i'll have to do GST and all of that stuff.
So really i dont need an ABn right now, with that all will come is alot more paper work.
Guys. Having just sepnt weeks sorting out ABN's GST Credits etc for a couple of businesses (bars) here is the go.
If you go into business you may need an ABN. Actually in truth it is whole heartedly recommended, but not essential.
If you earn over $50k per annumm then you need to register for the GST unless you are a charitable institution where it is "00k (which you aren't) this is reported by a BAS
If you pay employees and withold income for PAYG tax then you need to register for that.
If you withold PAYG tax but not registered for GST the it is an IAS.
I'll check up with the paperwork tomorrow for the ABN again.
From what I've seen the ABN doesn't give much paperwork at all. Provided you keep a good record of everthing.
More noticeably it gives you a better reputation to other people, which increases the number of people who would be willing to deal with you. An ABN also gives people consumer security as they would have a definite record of your business and that you're not just some joe blow on the side of road dealing people off.
Actually Timmy a site with some good hints is linked below:
http://www.fonerbooks.com/compbiz.htm
Who is eligible for an ABN? All superannuation funds and corporations law companies are entitled to an ABN. Other entities including an individual, partnership, trust, or unincorporated association must first meet one of the definitions of an 'enterprise'.
An enterprise is an activity, or series of activities, undertaken:
in the form of a business in the form of an adventure or concern in the nature of trade on a regular or continuous basis, in the form of a lease, licence or other grant of an interest in property by the trustee of a fund that is covered by, or by an authority or institution that is covered by, subdivision 30B of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 and to which deductible gifts can be made by a charitable institution or by a trustee of a charitable fund by a religious institution, or by the Commonwealth, a State or a Territory, or by a body corporate, or corporation sole established for a public purpose by or under a law of the Commonwealth, a State or a Territory. For eligibility to register for the GST see page 9.
Who receives the ABN in the case of a superannuation
Also another point. Spellcheck the site. Poor spelling doesnt inspire confidence. It makes me think of dodgy backyard operations or trailer park specials. Not a good business image.
Also you seem to have mice under the keyboard and rodent section. One or the other methinks
ABN - you do not need one, but I would say get one!
TBN - Territory Business Number, you need one of these if you are a business that operates in the Territory [You can find more information through the territory govt. web site http://www.nt.gov.au - under business] costs about "0 from memory...
