best way to get yourself a longish network cable is to ask someone who has a crimper to make you one, otherwise you will pay something stupid like $40 from harvey norman
you might even be lucky and get one of the guys at jaycar/strathfield to do it for you if you are very polite
the cable itself sells for about 30c a metre last time i got some, and then you need rj-45 connectors for a couple bucks
anyway if i was in darwin id make you one but im here in SA so, um, youre on your own

its such a rip up here, man we were charging around fifteen bucks for a twenty metre cable, tandy, harvey norman and dick smith charge like wounded bulls for cables and peripherals, try bits and bytes thats your next cheapest bet mate.

im sure tn1 could make u up a cable for 10 15 20 bucks???

ok in reply to them last 3 posts he is my brother unfortuanilty and yeha
he had a computer right and i made the cord run through the roof to dads computer and it worked
now he just got a new one from FITS yesturday (dazza the one u'r tech did for bundy :P but not a good job cae the CPU fan was too low and it shut down halfway through format when i was installing windows lol and the floppy not connected properly) and i set it up on the table fixed it and networked it wif the moulded cable we got from fits
so u all still wif me and reading?
it worked than i put it all in his room and the network dont work i tested his old computer today to make sure it wasnt the cord but that worked so cord is fine
its the card or somehtign now it says cable is connected when it is but no packets can be recieved :S
strange?
