Now quick post here.... I spoke to Tn1 lat night and the conversation turend to Evo 3.. he asked weather i was excited or not.. Of course I replied in the positive, then Howie turned to me and said, "well i'm not" I was confused by this response, but then he went on to explain.
People are STILL trying to get in without paying, STILL pissfarting around when maturity is requied, and STILL Pissing off the moment any packing up needs to be done.
I belive that these events should be as fun for the admins as they are for the gamers.
Personally I think anyone who even attempts to get in without paying needs a full year or even life-long ban on dga events, Pissfarters should be ejected to Pissfart around outside. And common sense and curtosy should prevail where packing up is concerend.
Lets all try to make this Lan the one the admins will enjoy too, lets try to make them look back and say, I whish this lan was like Evo 3
As part of the gaming scene i feel it necessary to help out a little even in the smallest possible ways.. ie CLEAN UP YOUR OWN GODDAMN SHIT... etc
the admins have a tough enough job as it is, don't make it harder for them.
don't give them a hard time - don't disobey the rules set down by the DGA admins etc
(the problem with these kind of threads is that the people reading it are the least likely to do the wrong thing by the admins... it's those that aren't well known/not-regulars... but oh well)
oh - it's not those that piss off when the packing up needs to be done - many times i've had to leave slightly earlier than i planned (every DGA event but the last one) it's those that sit around outside talking when others are packing up everything... y'know five mins isn't all that hard work :evil:
Good to see this thread appearing.... Correct me if I am wrong, When taking the payment for DGA events is not the craZyone easy going.......No issues/problems. Well no longer. From now on you don't pay you LEAVE, if you cannot pay there and then you better have a Bloody Good Reason. And for Christ sake GOD HELP YOU If find you are all set up and playing/leeching before you bother to come looking for me. I am not a very nice person when I am Pissed Off. Do not tempt fate.
its not bloody hard to do what i do to walk in the building with u'r first piece of equipment (u can never make just 1 trip from ya car to u'r table unless u have a lappy) u than find crazy and tell him to make u a ticket and u give him moneys than u get it and ya tape and put it on ya table than get the rest of ya stuff out the car and than sit down and enjoy
usually i bring in all my stuff... have all the cables lying around still disconnected - go see crazy BANG, done, easy.
imo i think you should have to pay before entering...
the tank has a little lobby section out the front where people could line up etc... put your computer off for a sec and get a bloody ticket before entering. have cocky and eater standing at the doors acting as bouncers :P
i think pay before entering really is the only way to go.....
me myself i think alot of this not getting payed stuff isnt intentional (although for some pricks it might be) but rather people who arent fully in the community see a piece of paper that says see crazy c before setting up and think who is crazy and just setup anyways and wait for someone to come see them (ill admit this was me last time to be honest couldnt remember which one was crazy but yeah i definately know now and thanks for lending the divx btw) but everylan ive been to ive paid and so have any friends ive brought with me although i normally go up to tn1 and he points out who's collecting cause tn1 is easy to put the name to the face :)
Yeah I have had PLENTY of people coming to me asking who to pay, I refer them to Crazy or Clackers (whom ever does it for which lan) and they go and pay them. I never really noticed how big this problem is, probably because I know none of these people, but I hope it gets through their heads that it DOES cost something, not much at all for what you receive really.
Howie, we have our own problems with freeloaders, even though everyone knows they have to pay. Usually I have to track em down, instead of the preferred method of them finding me, or another of my crew, and paying us.
good call spero and purple kicks asss i think all these dickheads that dont pay need is a little honesty and just pay its to help us get more switches gigabyte ones and it will make the servers better with upgrades and next lan will be better but if dga miss out on a few people not paying than they looks 50 60 70 80 $ and so on so less upgrades and extras
but howie has a plan for evo lookign forward to seing it go howie go howie :P
it wouldnt really make much of a difference would it? i mean 100/1000 for cs would still be very similar maybe a tad faster but not really that much but it sure would for leeching :P

If the game servers were on the gigabit switch then you would probably have a 0 ping (a whole 10ms at most faster than on the other switches)
Leeching would be limited to what the other end is on and if they arent on the gigabit switch with a gigabit card then it will only go at 10/100 speed which could make it up to probably 6.5 MB per second if there was no other traffic on the network. However you could leech from various locations simultaneously and have a high speed on each connection.
Really there isnt much point unless everyone has a gigabit card and all on gigabit switches
But if you were on 1000mbs network, you could leech from several people around different parts of the network, each one only at 100max - but get 10 users at the same time and its all sweet :P
BTW - isn't the max for 100, 12.5meg/s ? I was getting 12meg/sec at the last lan Woot Woot :D - Twas an excellent network indeed.

That would be the max theoretical bandwidth assuming that it stayed at 100Mbps constantly, but it bursts to 100Mbps. Also was that 12Meg/sec from one source or multiple?
I dont leech. It slows down the network, raises counter-strike pings and pisses people off. LAN's are for gaming for me. So i dun care if the leeching is good or not :p
