Suggested settings for 56K on Ozforces

I've done a fair bit of messing around, especially after the lan and these are what I believe to be the best settings for GU for us 56K'ers.

These are in your config.cfg

rate 4200
cl_updaterate 20
cl_cmdrate 15

If you connect at below 40 or are only 33.6
rate 2800
cl_updaterate 14
cl_cmdrate 12

i connect at 49.2k

rate 4500
cl_updaterate 25
cl_cmdrate 35.

any lower then that, and the bottom line of my netgraph gets too spiky.

You cmd rate is higher than your updaterate...weird :)

If my cmd goes above 30 I get rolling lag waves :)

Updaterate = Speed of data recieved from server
CMDRATE = Speed of data sent to server for commands, like buy, shoot, move

Is this correct?

That is basically as low as you can go Knights, bump them up to 12 and your rate to 2800 and it should still run fine :)

now flying at 6500, 40, 45 :D

...or just take things the wrong way because, admittedly, internet impedes ease of speech..

there is no body language (cept for ** and the like), no tone to the voice (same)

so it can be hard...and emotions are only explained through capitals and emoticons usually...

but yeh.. some need to lighten up... GU isn't really as bad as many others i have been to... :)
