Thanks to the dga krew for the great lan, cs comp was well organised for once :P lol maybe cause the clans wanted to win the money ;) hehe but again well worth the effort guys, and ive now had my lan fix for a few days so its all good.

Yup excellent lan, I was so exhausted from the first night, had too many CS wars for a day and night, about 8 if correct :shock:

Thanks to Crazy for reserving the seats, you couldn't pick a better location :P To all the DGA crew for setting it up and keeping it running for the 3 days. Wel done and look forward to next.

LMAO at Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers, it went like a speeding bullet around the network :P Too many requests for it - hehe - So yes all thank me, took a nice 2.1+ GB out of my adsl DL cap :P

Congrats to DNC for winning CS final, you guys were way to strong as CT's and held us back very well.

EVO3 WAS THE BOMB!!!!!!!

Congrats to (DNC) for taking out the CS Final and to [BM] for coming into second place. There are no losers from EVO3.....(well...maybe a couple :P )

On a personal clan note, SB had a very positive LAN. Fought about 7 or 8 Clan Wars/Scrims and only lost 1, which was against [S] (2nd round of the CS Comp). Thank you to all who attended and to all our who we played against.

The clean-up crew did a VERY nice job. Had the whole placed stripped and cleaned in about an hour (?)

leeching speeds were a bit on the slower side, but personally, its all about the games...i had a ball. (i leeched 8-Mile, so im happy).

Although the Q3:RA Tourny didnt get to be finished, i had a ball in that too. I played for the T-shirt Ninjas ]TSN[. and braindance and myself won first round...but got knocked out on the second :(
Im pretty sure vorly's team would have taken it out though :D

I had a great time, I know the other S dudes did. All our CS matches were good fun, but DNC played a awesome game on Clan mill to take us by 2 rnds (i think) anyway it was bloody intense what ever the difference, grats dudes :)

SB on inferno was a good match too, plenty of stalemate action and me getting shot in the head :( hehe

I cant comment on our first match as I was warming the bench and drinking cheering beer :)

Good fun in every aspect. aside from the dude with the net sends.

first round against tob went 17-7
second round against sb2 went 17-7 again :)

then in a friendly war agains sb1 we walked all over them.... at first...
at one point when we were t's it was 5-0 then it ended up around 7-5 our way (I think.. cant rember :P ) then we kinda lost the plot as ct's :(

but its our first war as a team... now "most" of us have our own puters we can get some more practice in :P

I woulda like to have seen a 64 player battle field game... but alas :(

maybe except for KORNY and his computer. but also i had a few network probs, but nothing major, just that my fuckin AGP port is rooted.

BF 1942- was great, finaly got to play wiht real people, and not bots. did pretty food at that.

CS-the few games i did play i think i did pretty good, was coming 1st for a while, then stopped playing. WD. to dnc, even though i wasn't there. also good job BM.

And with the flame thing, i think thats a bit cocky, would been funny you you guys lost, but hey, ya didn't, so GW.

Before I get into saying how great the lan is and thanks to all that attended and the great work that the DGA Team did.

Generally the whole weekend went off without a hitch in my mind. The networking issues were bound to happen on day one as this is the first time we have attempted over 150 people. Game play was good although via some switches their was a little lag. That goes for Leeching as well, it just depended on where you were leeching from.... Hell I got about 60gb and gave out about 45gb and had 420CD's distributed.

Downsides
The gamer called COMP you know who you are, I have your details YES. If I find you doing the sort of shit you did again you will suffer the anger of the craZyone.

The dreaded virus..People please PLEASE scan your systems before you come to a lan. We had another run of attacks. In future we may be forced to take you down from the network for good ( yep pack up and go )if you are infecting us. We have warned and advised people too many times.

I think maybe next lan i might actually play a bit. 1hr and 48mins for the realm server and about the same for the DGA is not enough for a 3 Day Lan. And Keith maybe you should get together with Howie before the DGA/Evo's to set things up sweet ??

In closing I will just say this

Was a great lan.
Gaming quality was spread out more among the games during this lan with kudos going to Rent and vorly for oragnising the RA comp during the last day.

Cleanup was okay, just the bastard who brought noodles in - don't ever bring them to lans again *ask the guy who swept the place - me*. Also smoking bastards are a dirty bunch chucking their cig butts in the garden with a bin only 2m away.

i dont smoke so :P wasn't me did ya find any minties around becuase that might have been me sorry bout that i made a little mess at dga 18 but i tried to keep clean this time :cry:

Turnout was excellent, 171 or there abouts I believe (tn1 or crazy can comment on this...) - unfortunately not the 200 that we did have registered on the dga evo registration list.

Good to see all those that were in for a game of NS :) Unfortunately the server was never completely full, as a 16v16 game of ns would have been excellent to see. The Syndicate would like to give a big thanks to TSN, GWAR and the extra's that filled in for our 10v10 NS war. It was unfortunate however that we were unable to finish the 2nd round :(

In regards to flammables post, I think his point was our match should have taken place in the finals. As shown in the past we always have very close, intense matches, which should be seen in the finals of a competition. This is one of the reasons professional sports have a seeding system. Never the less, congratulations to DNC on their win.

This should probably go in the flame wars, but I'm just expressing the feelings of a lot of players that I've spoken to, it's also not aimed at everyone, but the people who it is aimed at will know exactly who they are

In regards to dnc vs s, so they didn't make it into the final, somebody else got into it for a change, it actually made this lan interesting instead of the typical "oh, let's not even bother because it'll just come down to s vs dnc, as usual" yet it didn't, but you guys still have to ruin it for people by saying that it shouldn't have happened, and was just luck of the draw.
In future why don't we just scrap CS wars, except for DNC vs S of course, because as you've pretty much said, no other war can be the finals, so we can solve the problem, save time and just have one

Personally I think the admins have done a great job with the tournaments, they've made them a lot more fair, and have changed them to what the players have wanted. If you have a problem with the competitions, then either don't play in them, or write them up yourself.

another issue, SB actually gave us curry there for a while, i was worried, and I don't know how they went, but as for giving up because its going to be an S vs DNC final, thats no longer true, other clans are pulling their shit together and playing well, however the comp currently doesn't reflect the clan rankings accurately...

let's put it this way shall we, would you rather watch... on the projector... the S vs DNC match... or the DNC vs BM match???.. just asking

Hmm, yes, I heard the CS final scores between DNC and BM was 4-10, 10-0. Hmm, I bet that was interesting, thrilling and intense :) I'd really love to watch a team get slayed 10-0 - in the GRAND finals. This relates back to my previous post about a seeding system, there are reasons for it.

And Daughter of Missery, what you've summed up for all to read is your own opinion, completely missing flammable and my own points about the issue. We arn't against competition, or other clans in the final, its just the way you get there. Who should win the finals? The best clan? Well thats what I would have expected, how can the best clan win if they don't play the toughest opponents? Offcourse in this case DNC won, and they played us, (who would be considered the toughest opponents as shown by the results of the previous DGA EVO competitions (Iam trying to convey this as a fact, not a brag)), however - what if BM did win? Would you call them the best clan without having played the toughest opponents?

Competition is excellent. I can't speak for everyone else, but me personally, I would love it if every game I played had the same intensity as previous wars against DNC have provided - its by far the most enjoyable to play. Ohh, and right now I would like to thank SB for their war, in my opinion it was up there. Gobbles, PK, Milinko, CoCo and the rest of the crew had me worried for a while when they were swatting us down like flies.

Anyway, DNC won - congradulations, and you can now all stop saying "Ahh why bother, S is going to win anyway".

Well let me correct you.
THE FINAL SCORE WAS 13-8 TO DNC - Sure it wasn't the most intense final (probably why they hated it).

BM won 8-4 in the first round
DNC won 9-0 in the second round

If its a thrilling, intense and interesting final (match) you want then next time you'll get one.

No-one see's any of you people running lans a big as and as fun as DGA do we. if your gonna bitch about the comps make a post (a nice one) about what could need changing and perhaps Unseen, Crazy C might take your post in to consideration.

The scores were 8-4 (our way), and then 9-0. Final before termination of play was 13-8. That's not a dead heat, by any means, but it's not a thrashing. Oh, and there was no projector, should you want to know.

The draw was as fair as you are going to get. The idea of Double elimination is exactly that it gives the newer teams a chance to go further than they have before...Which they all did.

Personally, i have no issue with the comps.....Coco and Co. did a good job in running them. SB got a harsh draw yet again, versing S clan in second round, but thats (and i hate to use cliche's) THE LUCK OF THE DRAW :P
We could have thrown our first match to get thru further, but SB arent like that, we wanted to play hard. We fought S after our first round win, and S beat us convincingly (18-6??).
The thing i have a problem with, is people arguing who should have been in the finals. Fact of the matter is, the final was DNC Vs BM. [S] fought hard in their war against DNC, but lost. Hats off to DNC and S, they all did well, and to BM also.

But Neo, surely if you have a seeding system, then its always going to be DNC and S in the final!?!?!?

-=SB2=- got a lucky draw, we got nailed by DNC first round, so we had a second chance. We had an awesome game vs TSN, and then we got unlucky and were eliminated.

Yes I'm annoyed at the situation that we were eliminated in, but I don't blame [icdu], nor do I blame the admins, our loss was our own fault in the end.

You will all have to forgive me if I don't believe that "no offense" bullshit either. BM did very well, and "no offense" doesn't cut it when you basically tell a whole clan to their faces that you weren't counting after you beat your arch nemesis. If you want childish, thats where it started right there.

ALL the clans in that comp deserve respect, they ALL played their hearts out, even though most of us knew how it would turn out in the end.

Respect to BM, they got a lucky run, played hard, and did well. Respect also to the Admiins for an awesome comp. As always, lady luck is a bitch, but what can you do.

another big thanks to the guys who patiently made up the 6 crossover cables that held the large part of the network together.

yeah we are truely sorry -=Sb2=- about all the stuff that happen in our war it was so screwd first we had a freeloader on our team so we had to tk him and then when we started again dowhat pressed the wrong bind key and did a kamikaze, and then we were told we won, then told we were d/q so we just wanted to ask for a far and square rematch and it was dam close

I offer to run the cs comp next time . No??? then let the bitching continue!!

First you split the clans into 2 groups of 6. chuck 1st from last evo in 1st group. then put 2nd from last evo in bottom group. Then randomly place all the other clans between the 2 groups. Both groups play Round robin. The top 2 clans from botch brackets go to the semis. The top 2 from each bracket will be the clans that have won the most rounds(not matches).
This is to reward consistinsy not luck or bs or lag...

then just do 1v4 and then 2v3 and have a grand final all good.

this way the two top clans will always get to the grand final. they will be 1 and 2 then they will eliminate 3 and 4.

than 3v4 play and the winner plays the looser of 1 and 2
than the winner of that plays the top team in the final u get what knight means ?

I my way there is no way you can benifit from losing any round.
The top2 should always meet in the final.

And the network @ dga has never benn set up properly which is why it lags. I would have no idea how to do it because I dont have a degree in network engineering. a few people at dga may have though??

I like competative play, I like to be the best I can and i still try to be better. I do however also like to play for fun now and again. So yes I do take it seriously in some cases, and in this case I am.

It may sound sad to some but i look at this as a sport in some ways. It is what were good at, and I know exodus that you'll agree, you came from a well known and resonanbly good clan. Im syre you wanted to win and be the best you can?

So yes when it comes to wars (competative) I do take it seriously, just like any sportsman/woman take their sport seriously. Also while having the occasional fun, muck around etc.
