Was a bit of entertainment 100% with all teh chicks.. cept that mystery chick :S

m8nkey likes Anime and is disapointed at how little is being released in australia. he went and saw Spirited Away at the cinema recently and thought it was amazing. he also went to an Anime festival at Dendy cinema and saw a bizzare serries called "Pet Shop of Horrors". m8nkey would really like to see Patlabor 3 because he really likes mechs

Dissapointed... I am impressed with Madman and Tokyopop...

they have started picking up some of the better series of anime.... such as the fantastic series GTO...

I recomend anyone with even a passing interest in anime have a look at it, and that shouldnt be too hard now that it has a local aust release.

Excel Saga is also another VERY funny series, but you need to be more familiar with Japaneese culture to get most of the jokes.

Hellsing is another release that is excelent, I belive that they are now up to DVD 4 in aus.

Cowboy bebop, an excelent series, Well animated, and music that fits each episode perfectly.

Anywas thats about the end of my rant.... dont forget to check out GTO, I bought the first 2 dvd's today :) :) :)

Which Dendy? I used to walk past Newtown Dendy all the time. If you live in that area, you should look up SUANIME, who show a whole bunch of good stuff at Sydney University, and who arrange bus trips to the UNSW Anime Club screenings. SUANIME went from pretty much nothing to being a very cool, very well-run club in the space of a year and a half. I made some great friends out of it, I'm sure you would too.

Some anime seen lately..

Macross Zero, goes back to the time SDF1 crashed landed and the huge civil war erupted for claims of the technology.
Follows a pilot and introduces the Valkaire fighters for the first time in development and guess whos the test pilot?
Roy Fokker the legend!! Awesome first episode, movie like quality leaves you drooling at the f-14's, Su-27 and newer fighters...

Wolfs Rain, very nice animation. Wolfs turning into men (opposite to wearwolfs). Complex plot but good charaters and excellent action scenes.

Yeah. i hear wolfs rain is quite good, and marcos zero too. Spirited away is a good movie, although i havent seen the english ver. and grave of the fireflys is good if you like sad movies.

Anyone else go to the Anime screenings at the Uni on Sunday nights?

I didnt even know there were screenings at the Uni on sunday.... :?
hmm, what does it cost and which building is it in?

Its $3.50 for Members, $5 for non members and $6 for membership :)
And its usually always held in the Auditorium although some times (like tonight) it gets moved to some of the other buildings around it that have projection equipment.
They show five 25min shows each night, Once a week. From 6:30pm till 8:45pm

Man Ippo is the best series ever :P

Takamura is sooooooooooooooooooo funny :P

Gundam Seed the newest in the Gundam series is also worth a look. Damn good animation! better then that GundamW trash that came out. Ugh.

Rahxephon - Undecided about this. Seen about 3-4 eps and all its done is confuse me.. bit weird but animation it top notch. If i recall the cowboy beepop guys did this one? so giving it a chance :)
