Post 8

Hmmm prices look nice :) unlimited download,

Whats the catch? :?:

Post 9

Thats what I was woundering, what is the catch?

Post 10

someone stated on the sabaki forums
it'll be like everyone other ADSL isp, they 'll have unlimited, but soon tehy will put a limit on it...?

i think they might do that as well

Post 11

The catch is that with 512kbps connection the downloads will be capped at 60KBps, 1.5Mbps will be 187 KBps.

Thats how they can do it, because its ADSL. If it were cable everyone could download heaps heaps faster and screw over the network, whereas with ADSL even if everyone had the 1.5 Mbps plans they won't screw over the network.

So unless there is an obscene amount of people raping their network, they won't change to a data cap because they wont need to. And considering they own a massive network it wont cost shit for the large data flow either

Post 12

Martok thats hows it always been, telstra did that so did node.

Post 13

Yes, I'm saying thats why they are offering uncapped connections, and why its so cheap.

Post 14

Even if they gave me a foot massage every moth, $80 minimun is not cheap. Lets just say more attractive than the competition.

I thought the future was fast Internet, it seem that it is, except as the speed goes up so does the price.

Post 15

Ahh, but as more networks and providers come into existence (particularly more networks, as it takes alot of leverage out of Telstras hands), competition will intensify and hopefully drive prices down.

they say no they wont cut the unlimited plans
but in a few months when its up and running they will release capped data plans to run sside by ide with the unlimited plans

Read; realise how much this is costing them, jack up the price of the unlimited access ADSL accounts by an astronomical amount, and introduce a capped plan at the same price as the old unlimited ones...

How does the saying go " If it sounds to good to be true then it probably is"

Thinking very serious about getting it. Just need a pay rise at work to pay for it though. Any one no where i can buy a adsl modem with the built in router thingy (i know bugger all about adsl modems) For under $200 locally. Checked out the hardly normal ones and they where like $300+

By the time a get the modem and the extra phone socket in the room hopefully some people will have it in darwin and we would know what the network is like before doing the deed.

i would be quite happy to have a 10gig cap if they would drop the price by $20 per month. Maybe that would be a good option for people who cannot afford the full service.

Post 21

The funny thing about all of this is People complain about capping, speed, prices etc...And as soon as a player tries to do something about it what do people do...Complain, they wont do this they will do that..Their is no pleasing some people.....
A few points to realise
Ozforces ADSL is a 12mth contract
Statements..We will not raise prices in 1st 12mths..guarantee, we will not cap or shape adsl inside first 6mths..If we break any of these commitments you can disconnect at no additional charge...
So far I see more than enough to give somebody a FAIR GO....
My forms have gone

Post 22

The contract is actually 6 months
Quote:
12.1. Each Individual Service must be retained for a minimum period of 6 months from its activation and this period is the Minimum Service Period.

and if they make changes, ie bandwidth limits to their plans
Quote:
19.5 If a Fair Use Policy is introduced within the first year of OzForces provisioning of Residential DSL, and if a client wishes to terminate their account on this basis, OzForces will absorb the standard cancellation fee.
You can disconnect without any fee.
