In most games I use WASD these days, however in Counter-Strike I stay faithful to my arrow keys, which I have used in the game for 3 years.

ESDF is definately the most practical, a good example of this is Tribes 2, where you need a huge number of biinds, all that are important and need to be close to your fingers. ESDF suits perfectly, where as trying to play with WASD leaves you stretching even further right to reach important key binds.

Post 13

I used to seriously play TFC and CS about 4 and a bit years ago using the arrows config.

Then about 2 years ago I started using WASD for Tribes2 and CS, as getting to the arrow keys meant more of a strain on the carpal tunnels in the wrist and less desk space. Then I started pumping heaps of binds in round the WASD. Then I tried ESDF for about a week didn't like it as I always have a drink of some sort while playing, and it just makes it that little bit quicker to get back to the draw with the WASD over the ESDF.

Oh and long long time ago I did play games with M<>? as there was no mouselook just yet.

Post 18

In CS I play with arrow keys but play most other games with WASD only cause it takes too much tim e to convert over to my CS settings.

Post 19

same as monkey here.

Playing cs most of the time, and I like the arrow keys (just feels comfy) so I suppose i dont try any other combination.

I did try wasd while playing Q3 quite a while back but I found there were too many keys around the 4 moving keys and it confused me a little.

Cant imagine how i ever used to use the numpad many years ago. I try it now and it just so damn cramped!

Post 23

I use WASD, but my wife wanted to learn how to play CS, so I loaded up the HL tutorial for her, and she couldn't handle the WASD keys, and changed the bindings to ESDF. I asked her why that was easier for her, and she said because of the raised bump on the F key, it was easier to keep her fingers on the keys and know they were right without looking.

Horses for courses, I suppose.

Post 24

i use the wasd keys
lol my dad is a good laugh to watch cause when he playes cs or bf or anythign he only uses his left pointing finder to press the wasd keys :P so he is constantly lookign a tthe keyboard to see where he is at :P
