When I turn off my computer, no matter if I "shut down" or "restart", the computer restarts itself so my only way of actually turning off the computer is to do it straight from the power supply, which I don't think is really that healthy for the comp :? And after I restart, it often goes into the bios saying something about the CPU speed is wrong or something and gives me a few options to change it then to keep loading up. And sometimes my comp won't start up at all and I have to press the power switch many, many times before it does... I've tried a registry hack that a magazine said would stop this but it hasn't worked.
I wasn't sure if this was a hardware or software problem.
Have you got last state enabled in the BIOS? That can make your computer turn back on after a shut down, just turn off automatically turn back on if power failure, or something like that in your BIOS.
