kk just then i was trying to join the soon to be removed wc3 server and its like cannot join due to slot reservation. thats cool coz ive stopped bothering trying to get it to work so i type retry in the hope that someone might leave. i repeat this a couple of times and then, low and behold the message appears:
you have been banned from this server.
whats the deal?
is there a rule somewhere i shouldve read regarding this? any help would be appreciated.

What is the point of this ban?? Because some1 is retrying to the server, it shows their loyalty to the server... (bad english, but hey im tired)
I don't know but im sure there is a reason.
yeh i can join again now. still wanna know what was going on though. also, is there current issues going on with the reserved slots (i know theres been multiple billion threads about it) or am i just inable to do it?

Not really, if you get a 1min ban,you suddenly wake up and realise that "Hey I have been kicked, for being a dickhead" you'd be supprised how many ppl actually come back into the game after a while and have suddenly changed their attitude..............also it stops /retry..........and maybe next time that admin will not be so fogiving in handing down a 1 minute ban......... :idea:

Don't retry-spam and it won't ban you.

and whats wrong with retry spamming? does it lag the server or somthing?
coz it saves using server query or somthing where by the time u see someone has left it has to start halflife by which time someone has often joined. you cant wait for free spot either because of the whole reserved spot system. give me a better option that retry spamming and i will gladly use it.

The auto ban on consistent retry is a function of the halflife dedicatd server itself, just the same as it bans someone for hammering rcon password attempts.
Nothing can be done - just has to be dealt with.

lol well I have done that exact thing on this server for years and sorry to say but your system is either real slow or somethings wrong - it takes like no time to leave server query and enter CS.
I'd say 9 in 10 chances that I will get the spot rather than someone else.
