I made my avatar and sig.
To get your avatar the right size just make sure it fits the max dimensions and see what you can make with that. If its not animated then as long as it is withing the max dimensions then it should fit. Thats if its jpeg or gif. If its animated jsut downgrade the dimensions, quality till its with the size limit

Use a graphics program of some sort to create (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro are common ones) a new image, put whatever you want in the image. Make sure the dimensions of the image are 80x80 pixels. Try to use the least amount of colours as possible and set it to say 8bit for example. This will just reduce the file size of the image, and this is important as your avatar must be less than 6Kb (I think) in size for you to use it on this forum. Save your file in jpg format (probably best for file size)
As for an avatar like mine you must use a gif animator of some sort and all it is, is basically a few images one after another (a slide show) that play frame after frame. Again keep to the properties of 80x80 and 6Kb.
As for places to find stuff im not really sure - let your imagination do the walking :wink:

my avatar is bieng gay and not working atm :(
i reckon making your own avatar from a piccie u think is cool is good enough. that way theres less chance someone else will have it and itll be of somthing u dig and not somthing u found on some site. kthxbi

When you find an avatar you like, if it happens to be too big (dimensions and/or file size), you can go to this site to resize it.
Reduce the dimensions first, and then reduce the colours till you get the right size.
