what a dream
connected to adsl within 4 days of ordering

I got signed up with internode.....very impressed with thier service, and bought an billion 4 port ethernet adsl modem
just entered user name and password and bingo
works straight away

I had a similar experience with Telstra - everyone bags them but the techs are good - gave me a couple of spare filters etc
Their Perth Metro ADSL service is now quite stable.
Well I'll be signing up with ADSL in the next day or two, dunno whether to go with Internode or OzForces, both have unlimited accounts.
Con's and Pro's
- Internode game servers are full of poofs sometimes, but if I went with Internode nice pings of around 60-70
- OzForces servers are quite good (GU etc. etc.) and would get a 60-70 ping to them (Oh yeah baby!)
- Rumours of OzForces cutting off their unlimited services in approx 12 months though not confirmed (only thing holding me back I think).
I think I'm more then likely going to go with OzForces due to the GU/Sabaki servers (and the rest of the OzForces servers), need a 1.5MB unlimited account, bring it on baby!!!!!
Ok, screw OzForces, there's no way I'm paying $235 per month as opposed to internodes "50.

I know you pay for the quality and service but I cannot justify paying $235 per month.
Um I pay $95 a month for Telstra 1.5 Mb service
3Gb capped but they are now providing a lot of free stuff on their own servers which does not get counted in ya downloads etc.
Games, patches , other software etc .....
After looking at things I think I'll go for the 1.5MB 8gb account, "35 (or there abouts), internode does not include uploads in your 8gb and as it is not unlimited then bandwidth will not change depending on users or downloads.
Internode Gaming Network does not count in your downloads, neither do their mirror sites (tucows, internode file library, etc. etc.). I don't need to download huge files as I have other avenues to do that for me, so I'm not worried about a cap as I don't think I'll go over it, I'm after the quality of service.

so i might change to that from 3gb $60
Went over the 3gb telstra adsl for second month in a row by a whole .26mb. Had exactly 1mb left for the last day then had to check email for work and bumped it over the 3gb cap.
Could someone tell (Darwin time) when Telstra changes over to next month? The usage meter says its was last updated 10am on the 31st still :(

Want to start downloading but need to make sure.
Umm I thought (well this is Telstra though) that your internet month starts from the first day you have active adsl. So the date is different for everybody.
But if your meaning time wise, well if its anything like Internode then it could be within a few hours (ie: 12am -> 2am or so).
But who knows :D

Since when has Internode offered an 'unlimited' DSL plan. I believe they offer a flatrate option, but that is by no means an 'unlimited' connection.
I would suggest you do some further research.
Personally I use a Node 1500/256 8Gb Premium account in Adelaide. 15ms pings to node servers and pretty sweet pings to everywhere else.
Node gets a big thumbs up from me.
Yeah yeah (picky bastards) my mistake, it was flatrate that I meant. When I said "unlimited" I meant data wise but I realise now I need to be more specific.
Yes I will be going for the 8gb premium plan, I would prefer quality over downloads as I am more a gamer then d/l'er.
I think were getting 50-60 pings to node and 80-100 to most others, not bad, I'll be happy with that.
Be prepared, ZeReaper shall be back online again soon to decimate all, the punishments shall strike those that aren't worthy.
