Post 3

how old are you dude ;)

*hugs my open license*

Post 4

Fact, if you dont believe me check with your local cop shop.
If you blow under 0.02% BAC when your on your P's you DONT lose your licence. Once you blow that and over, you'll lose it for certain. However, you will be unable to drive home after blowing a reading, you will need to be picked up.

Post 5

you asking me? if so, i'm 20

Post 6

0.02 is absolutely nothing... like fully, a can of lite beer... that's it... no half a acn I mean... gee... not worth it I say. Anyhow, I am 17, and got my P's about 7 weeks ago :)

The only reason they have 0.02, is cos of shit like mouth wash and stuff like that, some contain SOME alcohol (no, don't try and get drunk of mouth wash, you'll end up sick...)

Post 7

Oh yeah, does psy_ave mean Psychotic Avenger? Shit, I saw it and read it as: "Pussy_Avenue" ahahahahahahahhahahahah.......................

Post 8

BAC 0.02 isnt a can of light beer, like you said - accounts only for mouthwash, cherry ripe etc.

What age do you guys have to be to ger your P's where you are? For canberra its 17.

Post 19

Yeah 100% on theory (which is piss easy)
When I did my P's you basically had to get 100% to pass was one of the first group to try the new driving practical stuff. Basically you do a minimum of 8 lessons and you have to pass all the objectives (u turns, 3 point, saftey check, parking, etc). So obviously I passed :P
Its pretty good up here though, you get 8 (or I think it might have gone to 12 now free lessons with an instructor of your choice), both theory lessons and the test under the DTAL (Driver Training And Learning - please correct me if i got it wrong) scheme.

As much as its annoying to do, it is a good program for first time drivers and it really makes you feel that little more confident at the end of the program.

Never had an accident, fine or been pulled over (other than breath test). I'm doing well :D Been driving about a year and a half now (not much compared to most) but i feel im doing well.

Post 20

wooo very nice!!

cant wait till i get my L's lisence man u now

so man thins discourage you about driing cuz of car crashes

and some people just tell you why they dont wanna drive

makes me wanna think twice about driving

Post 21

Driving in general is safe.
when you look at the number of cars, the number of drivers and the pure number of cars using roads each day, then compare those to the number of fatal accidents, it really isnt that dangerous.

One thing my father always told me, still rings in my ears to this day:

"For the love of god, clean your fucking room"...

.......

No, thats not it, let me think....oh yes, thats it:

"Its not your driving you have to worry about, its the other people on the road".

I believe this is true. IF you are a confident driver, and are aware of others on the road at all times, then you shouldnt have a problem.....touch wood.

Post 22

DTAL corse is liek this

cost 70$

get theory lessons and test there is a page of questions cant rember how many exacly
but u can get 4 wrong only

then u pass get 12 vouchers (most ADI charge 5$ still if u have these) but u ge this book as u go through the tasks llike cabiin drill hillstarts etc they will stamp them off then u ahve little reviews and stuff so there is no MAJOR test but little ones with ya instructor only

Post 23

Ah-hahahah Milenko, you crack me up, you better have a hawaiian shirt or go buy one, for end of this month (trust me).

When I went for my drivers licence I aced my learners, but for my P's I got maximum number of questions wrong without failing (I didn't study for any of it).

Had my P's for about 2 months, moved to darwin (from melbourne), got my bike licence, and they put me on my open car licence (FOOLS!) so I hadn't even been driving for 3 months and I was legally allowed to drink and drive (not that I drink).

Post 24

Well, in Syd, you can get your L's when you are 16, but you need to do a minimum of 50 hours + be 17 when you go for your P's

I had a really good instructor but, so yeh, the 50hours was good

but unfortunately I had an accident like 2 months ago.... Guess it's good to have my first accident (wet, not my fault, idiot slammed his brakes, whilst tailgating someone a car ahead of me, by the time it got to me, it was too late (locked up for about 8 metres, someone in blindspot to so couldnt duck out.....) ) as an uneventful one. Been driving a year and 2 months now
