Computer games being blamed for school stabbing

I'm not a parent and don't intend to be, but I think corporal punishment is fine as long as it's proportional to what the kid did. I read something recently where a judge said "Parents should punish children now, or the court will later." and that sounded about right to me. Wish I could cite the actual source though.
