That is kind of funny, I thought high end gaming moved to the xbox, and mostly the game market cross hairs is aimed at the console market.

The Console market is definitely thriving, although some could argue on a downward trend atm (especially with no new consoles on the immediate horizon - WiiU doesn't count!)
The new iMacs would be stressed running BF3 @ 1920x1080 max detail.
The GT650M is benchmark comparable to the GT570 Nvidia chip-set. While a big step up, I wouldn't be surprised if you would need to use a Thunderbolt set up to make the next gen of games run at a playable frame rate. Although from what I've read - Thunderbolt doesn't like any GPU drawing more than 150W.
