My freakiest dream:

I woke up in an 18th century wooden school with a golf club sticky taped to the back of my head and a copy of Alice in Wonderland sticky taped to the end of the golf club. This massive fat man with a huge whistle bursts in blows the whistle and shouts "Stop that boy he has my book!". I swing around and the golf club comes off my head and goes out the window. My vision suddenly flicks to a page from Alice in Wonderland, something about this blokes wife Beatrice. I come back to the school and the fat man screams and his head pops off. It extends upwards on his spine and then he looks up screams again and launchs himself through the roof. His corpse was left hanging, swinging in the breeze.

This is one of the freakiest dreams i have ever had.

I have frequent dreams, most are either scarry, funny or trippy. I usually have three independent dreams in one night.
Funky dreams include:
-Being a caracter in Diablo2 (sorcerer) beating Diablo with my staff.
-Living in a house that is mirror image to the real thing, and aliums trying to abduct me.
-Being chased by evil ghosts and it's like running on really soft sand.
-Being chased by snakes.
-Driving a Lexus LS430.
-Being a crew member of a Federation Star Ship.
-Getting stuck in a water slide.
-Losing my car at a shopping centre car park at night and gangsters are coming.
-Me and the Presedent Bush being hunted by Muslims and Darkside and Revhed are also muslims stopping me from escaping by hitting me with foam and chipboard.

"The Bomb Has Been Planted!"
So I go to defuse the bomb, but there was no time, and the bomb blew up. I wake up suddenly and my room was lit by lightning and I proclaimed:
"OH SHIT A BOMB!!!"
And my bro was going to bed and he looked in and gave me a strange look then the power went out.

I remember when I went to sleep expecting a call on my mobile the following morning.

I awoke, then dozed off again.

In my dream, I awoke and checked my mobile, seeing it had a missed call I went to check. When I went to check I woke up. I looked at my mobile, no missed calls? I dozed off again and had the same dream.

After the 5th time around, I was getting pretty goddamn confused.

Post 19

Quote from Cr@zY L|aMa:

Its usually a sub-concious emotion of being out of control.
I used to analyse my own dreams to see what i was thinking, without thinking (if you know what i mean).

I used to have a dream of a childhood sweetheart and there was always a rabbit, a white rabbit. No, this wasnt a Matrix dream.
I read a book (holy shit, i HAVE read a book) and its "diagnosis" was that my subconcious felt that this girl was my soulmate and the rabbits represented my desire to marry her and have a family with her.

Its quite interesting really, if your willing to open your mind and accept all possibilities ;)

Post 20

Wow Milenko, that's heaps interesting!! I've always tried to wonder what dreams mean. I've had dreams about CS before as well. And it's so hard. There's no way to direct your dreams anywhere, or more specifically at anyone! Do you remember the name of the book or something?

I remember whenever I got sick, I use to have the most horriblest dream. I can't describe it to anyone. But I was in my house, except it was literally 100x bigger. And I was always walking from my room to the toilet or something, and it was so god damn horrible. There was faces in the wall, and voices, and by god it scared me. That happened to about 2 years ago. I was sick, and I awoke cos of the dream, and whenever I closed my eyes again, or just stared I'd see it all again and get freaked. So I closed my eyes and fought it away. After that night, I've never had it again.

...Meh...after a marathon 10 hours of playing DoD I decided it was time to go to bed. Well I had this weird dream I was a german sniper, and was in a forest like the Forest map. Anyhoo I was set up and kept downing waves and waves of americans as they were trying to occupy our positions. After a while I ran out of rounds and had to fight with my entrenching tool(spade), blood and guts everywhere I was pretty scared.
Until I got shot my left arm shot off by an allied sniper(It was all like Matrix camera angles and slow motion), and I fell to the ground and tried to crawl away but got bayonetted in the back.
THEN I woke up covered with sweat and the missus punching me in the back (for accidently elbowing her in the head while sleeping) and my arm was 100% asleep from laying on it. That was some weird shit happening.
This was on the weekend. She also reckoned that I was shouting out commands in German.

That was my weirdest dream I have had for a while. So tell me Dr Milenko, what does my dream say?????

You played too much DoD?

Post 23

Quote from Aravi:

Exactly :P

Not all dreams are correlations to your subconcious thoughts.
Most of them are due to something that is on your mind, that you know of.
IE, in Monkey's case, he was playing DoD which was "transferred" into a dream.

Now most of you would probably call me a liar or say im talking shit with my next statement, BUT.
I have actually had dreams where i was in control. I could consciously make decisions of what was going to happen next in my dream. I could fly, make people appear/disappear, literally do whatever i wanted to.

I have read quite a bit about it and its mostly described as a "Waking Dream". They are alot of fun, but a little scary at the same time. Scarey mainly due to the fact that if you aren't strong minded, alot of thoughts that you dont want in ur dream come through (Nightmares).

I will try and find some good online sites for you to read if ur interested Amph. My mother (shes into all that kinda stuff) has quite a few books on it as well. I will try to find out what they are called (as i cannot for the life of me remember).

Being in a trance state or hypnosis, is also a similar brain activity to dreams. I say "similar" very loosely here. Alot of people unwantingly say things in their sleep (like Monkey, letting his wife know he's a closet Nazi  ). I guess this can be compared to being hypnotised. Your awake, but you remember things from your mind, that you normally couldnt.

Theres even been cases of people speaking other languages in their sleep, when they themselves say they cant speak a word of it.
But these are usually people who claim to remember past lives :P

Oh and for the likes of Aravi, dont read to deep into this, as none of what i have said is proven fact, but more like speculation from an interested party. Its meant to be digested at face value ;).

(Yes, this IS in fact, THE most information packed post i have ever made on the GU forums).

i love falling dreams they are trippy. the last one i had i was in this massive amphitheatre, one of those outdoor ones. this thing is just like a massive set of stairs that are curved around and there are hundreds of stespa dn each of these steps are like 2.5 feet high. i had to get to the bottom reall quick for sum reason so im running down theses massive stairs, im gradually taking more and more in each step till i take a massive jump and they drop out from under me and just as im about to hit the ground with a bone shattering force my dream switchs into a bathroom and im gripping the towel rack thingy really tight, almost like a dream in a dream. oi then woke up.

ive had dreams where i had the ring from lord of the rings. thats much fun, i was at a BBQ of sum sort.

and one or 2 where ive become concious of the fact that im having a dream. in these i cant actaully manipulate the dream world or pyhsics but i can do whatever i want cause i know its only a dream, so i can rape, pillage etc. go barbarian style.

i have this weird reocurring dream where im at the party which is playing shitty music (r&b etc). i dont know anyone there and im just wandering around aimlessly when i suddeny need to go to the dunny. but one is being used and the other is broken. but there is one dunny left but it is in the middle of the hallway. i cant remeber what happens next cause i havent had the dream for a while. but i do remeber it getting very messy. and the last time i had it i actually met the host of the party who is the random chick at school who ive never said a word to.

and ive also had DC dreams, they are cool

Alrighty then...lucid dream? Also speaking as someone interested but without any real knowledge: I don;t think such a thing exists as I've talked to no one that claims to of had one, that hasn't been thinking/talking about the concept of lucid dreaming while awake. I think they're just dreams in which we are dreaming we have control, rather than conciously controlling actions, themes etc.

Anyways, I've been having this reacuring dream in which:

I'm in a shit-box car with a white tiger, a huge mofo tiger that's sitting in the passenger seat with a seat belt on. We're screaming through a sort of Mexican themed town, made of mud bricks and the like, trying to get away from the French themed police.
Then I'm in one of these mexican buildings in the country with the police still buzzing around outside searching for me...and I find The Who there. I can vaguely recall a deep conversation with Sparks playing in the background. Some guy from the band gives me an art diary...a big bound black book with a manefesto inside.
I know that I've read the manefesto, but it's contence is hazy. The book is sort of like the brief-case in Pulp Fiction, containing something indescribable.

...

WTF?!?!?

and yeah, I'm bored and living in New Zealand .

http://dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/

i have studied a bit and can mostly analyse my own dreams now... like reading tarot really.... you know the definition, but its how to twist it to fit your world or if you take it at face value. i dont remember many of my dreams, but latley i ahve been dreaming about car chases because i have been playing GTA3... also, does anyone drive around town and think 'ooh i need to remember where that jeep is for later..." or if your playing vice city.... " i must shoot that person for their moped...." ? or am i the only one?
most my dreams are like movies and none are too freaky or they are about my family.. latley my lil sister being kidnapped actually... hmmm...

Post 27

Most dream interpretation has been discounted by most serious psychologists. (alllthough there are a couple of nutters still around who reckon dreams are the subconcious way of solving difficult or unsolvable problems we are facing).

Personally, I think that dreams are just the brain having a bit of fun. Of course, every one dreams every night (whether you remember them or not is something quite different), during the REM fase of sleep.

Milenko, what you were saying about lucid dreams and their similarity to hypnosis, yes, it is possible to have lucid dreams while hypnotised, but only by command, since it actually requires to be in the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage in order to dream.

Post 30

Heheh....

My most memorable weird dream is when I woke up in my dream (god I hate that). I get ready for school and I walk into my little sisters room to ask her something of some description... Just so happens, that she is eating socks... being the loving brother that I proceeded to instruct my sister on which socks to eat because they were 'tastier' then I woke up...

Post 31

I had a dream that all my friends were somehow able to inflate themselves like balloons and they could float around in the sky.

I had a dream that i could shoot glow in the dark boxes which resembled the cases that gamboy games come in, and id use them like stairs, whenever i found a spot that was too tall for me, id shoot these things out of my arm.

I had a dream where i saw these two guys: http://ubershoebox.decksix.com/miscart/immortal2.jpg walking down the street, i was like "hey" and they were like "hey" but somehow they spoke perfect english and in aussie accents, also they had that makeup and outfit on too.

Post 32

I've had a few of those 'in-control' dreams that Milenko mentioned. You know it's a dream, and (unless something bad is happening) you try your hardest not to wake up. It's so cool to do whatever you want knowing that it's just a dream, and you can't die, sufffer consequences, etc. Although quite often some really wacked out stuff will happen.

Just gotta be careful that you are dead certain its a dream, and youre not in reality.

Post 33

I still don't believe in real lucid dreaming - see above - but have had a few dreams in which I believed I had contol. "unless something bad is happening" meaning you can't control every part of the dream, doesn't that infer that it it's not a lucid dream? Or is my definition wacked out?

Also, has anyone found that they've woken up from that world of no consequences feeling really really guilty? As if our unspoken morals have become apparent?

Post 34

I mean 'in-control' as in you can control your actions, and in most repsects its the same as reality, except YOU KNOW its a dream. Doesn't give me godlike powers to spawn mountains and smite things. Unless its a really cool dream.

Waking Dreams aren't as rare as some people think. Generally if your planning/picturing what you believe is going to happen, just as you fall asleep, it transfers into a dreamstate almost immediately.

in my particular case i was thinking about an upcoming birthday party which i had been planning, turns out i fell asleep, but was still in that 'planning' mode. i was thinking about who was going to be there, and picturing them, then i'd say, no, don't want that person there - so they disappear. etc.

my weirdest dreams are the ones i don't remember happening (a lot of the time i've told someone about the dream though..). but here's why they're weird....

first time that i can remember it happening was when i lived in Katherine. we were moving up to darwin, it was early in the morning. i went down my front stairs with my football and went under the house (upper storey house) saw my dad's car in the backyard. then i thought, whoa, i've seen this before... turns out i had. i told my brother about 4.5 months earlier that i had dreamt we were moving... you know how you just KNOW things in dreams... to Darwin. after i said i had a feeling of deja vu he said that i had dreamt it. we hadn't even decided to move up to darwin at the point when i had dreamt it.

it's happened to me a few more times that i can remember but, they are much more insignificant than the first one...

I had the greatest dream last night :) I dreamt I married one of my friends. But I must've realized at some point it was a dream, cos the wedding was TOTALLY casual, she was like wearing a white top and jeans, and we didn't kiss after the whole crap had been said - we also didn't have to say anything... we did hug though ...

I'm queer...

It was a good dream though :)

My favourite dream ever was me and a girl doing normal, everyday things. A girl who I have never met since or before the dream. A girl whos name isn't important, whos face is inconsequential. Just a normal girl...:?

I am alone in this old stlye house and there are ghosts and things all around. Things go okay for a while until I find myself walking through a room and a girl walks out of a mirror.
So I talk to this girl for a while and the subject of "how you would most hate to die" came up. She went through a few examples, but none where correct so I told her that I would hate most to be eaten alive.
Suddenly she turns animal and bites a chunk out of my leg and I wake up screaming.

This is the dream that has scared the shit out of me the most.

My favourite dream is from when I was a kid.

I am in a field of grass and sunflowers, I can fly. So I start flying around in circles, but then I go straight....faster and faster. Zooming over the top of the grass running my hands through it as I pass over this seems to go on for hours.
Faster and faster I go faster than anything else until the grass is just a blur and I can see the horizon coming closer and closer. Just as I reach the horizon I wake up...and it's time to go to school.

Ever since then I have tried to get back that feeling of weightlessness and speed, came close motorcycle racing but still not the same. I have tried to "finish" the dream but it never allows me to.

So Dr Milenko what do these dreams tell you???
I await your version of these events.

Perhaps as a kid there was something holding you back or a figure who you felt was stopping you from doign what you wanted. Perhaps it could explain why, in your dream, you were allowing yourself to be free, do whatever you wanted to do. I would say that the reason why you never finish your dream, is because subconsciously, you dont want the feeling of freedom to ever end.

Quote from Milenko:

Exactly :P

Not all dreams are correlations to your subconcious thoughts.
Most of them are due to something that is on your mind, that you know of.
IE, in Monkey's case, he was playing DoD which was "transferred" into a dream.[/quote:5ffda9dcc3]

That was the most recent dream that I can remember, but I do have one dream that I will never forget.

I await your version of these events.[/quote:5ffda9dcc3]

Yeh i know man.
I analysed my own dream once.
It had a midget, a poney, a small pot of honey and a large bag of oats.

It was a bit worrying...to say the very least.
