Hmm... ISP's give you free e-mail accounts. You can use Outlook Express to connect to them. You can get those e-mail address hooked onto a .NET passport so you can use it on MSN Messenger. Problems solved. No reason to use Free web based e-mail.

Yeah, that's cool, I have nothing against it :) I used it for years. I still have a Hotmail account, but it's linked to Outlook Express... which checks both accounts at the same time. I don't need to visit there site anymore.

i use 3 emails, 2 hotmails and my ISP. 1 hotmail for if i ever need to sign up to sumthing using a email and i dont wanna use my main one. one for general use (msn etc). then ISP one for anything that dont accept hotmail/yahoo addresses or emailing companies when im asking about sumthing. dont look as childish as a big @hotmail.com does

on topic, i like the new look of it, even though i use outlook for all my email needs.

I can check both my primary and secondary accounts from around the world. I can check them via the web or via a dedicated e-mail client. They're also both free.

I'm unfortunately not swayed by your arguments as to why Hotmail is such a convenience. :)

i choose to use hotmail becasue its free and easy
i have set it up so the spam i get is blocked (some is anyways) some i am too lazy to do

i got the shits with pop3 accounts
becasue i am always changing isp or going places where i have to change addresses just to get mail or send them

Umm. You guys looking at www.hotmail.com or soemthing? Doesn't look like much new to me...

the actual interface design is different ruin. can't really see why they changed it again, pretty and simple design really but no point in change.

hotmail is great because it's so very simple. rec, you should try checking your email in eastern europe sometime, you'd quickly grasp why it's so useful.

Hotmail does the same job as any other email so who cares if you use it or not.

You get spam in every email so thats not a factor

Outlook Express is ghey and reeks of suckiness. I prefer PocoMail, but there are plenty of other good, customisable email clients. I think an older version of PocoMail came free with last month's APC mag, but somehow I doubt any of you care to actually buy your software :p you can download the demo of the latest version off of their website.

As for a local mail client, i use IncrediMail XE. Damn nice little program. If i had a choice though, i would use LNotes :)

It's not like I've checked the hotmail site for like 3 years :P My account got 'deleted' after I didn't check the email for a month or something yet I can still use msn Oo

It's decent, not life-changing; my copy is getting pretty good at picking spam out. It gets about 2/3rds of spams correct atm.

anyone noticed that they can't always open a link in a new window with this latest hotmail look?

I'ved used 3 hotmail accounts in my time, and 2 of them got spammed to the crappery... but one of them never got any, and I still used it (for 7 years!!!!)

I've had the same hotmail address for about 7/8 years, stopped spam by setting up a list of a bout 50 uber filters and sub folders, problem solved. Also I'm somehow able to set up my hotmail to check my POP accounts even though your not supposed to be able to do that unless you use the paid hotmail. (pfft, sif pay for it)
