Telstra has finally got a half descent plan at last.
Unlimited adsl(fine print says may be speed limited after 10gb) 256/64 connection for ^69.95 per month.
they have also thrown in bonus shit like.
- FREE: ADSL Self Installation Kit, or "29 off professional installation - FREE: 2 months of broadband access** - FREE: 3 months of dial-up` access for your existing dial-up account - FREE: Keep your current email@bigpond.com email address
Its alot better than there shitty 3gig cap plans.
Is this telstra's big push to make ADSL a afforadable at last.
actually, it's good. that way i can tell the few friends that thought that telstra was the best, even through all my advice, that they can finally download an amount that is acceptable in comparison to every other ISP at a decent price...
Quote from Kïnakitoki: * Speed may be slowed to 64kbps after 10GB; Service cannot be used for unauthorised purposes set out in the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). Internode has an acceptable use policy... i know cos i've been threatened by it :P
Lite 550MB you will be entitled to 3GB of data per month Standard 3GB you will be entitled to 6GB of data per month Pro 6GB you will be entitled to 15GB of data per month Ultimate 15GB you will be entitled to 20GB of data per month
Would someone know if telstra charges to change over the between adsl plans, currently on shitty 3gb one and as the unlimited one is $4 more will change if its free :). Also how long does it take to change over?
Will switch sometime to iinet when i get round to arranging it with my parents but for now the telstra one will do.
Quote: Question Will changing to an Unlimited* plan affect my contract?
Answer Changing to an unlimited plan will not affect your contract and there are no fees or charges to change plans. Your contract length will not change and you do not need to sign up to a new contract to subscribe to an Unlimited* plan. For example, if you are on an ADSL 500 MB plan and 6 months into your 8 month contract – you can change to the Unlimited* plan and do not need to sign up to a 24 month contract plan.
Customers on an existing contract, regardless of contract type or length, can change to an unlimited* plan with no early termination charge. There is no charge to change plans, your contract length will not change and you do not need to sign up to a new 24 month contract. Simply go to My Account and change your plan online. Remember that your new plan will not take effect until the start of next month.
BigPond customers who are no longer obligated to a contract period, can change to any plan - including the new BigPond Broadband unlimited plans, at no cost and without having to enter into a new contract.

Going to be calling up tomorrow regarding pricing, confirming the change, contract, and any extra fees. Will be doing same via email. Yes is a pain, but considering it is Telstra I like to cover my arse from such a big company and fine print.
