Tomorrow March 7, 2004, is the first race in the Formula Calander. It is the Foster's Australian Grand Prix. It will be hosted at Melbourne's Albert Park Race Track.
This year will Mclaren's David Coulthard get back to back wins? Or will it be Australia's very own Mark Webber win? Or will the ever reliable Michael Schumacher provide Ferrari another win? Or will his younger brother Ralf? Or will young guns Ferdinand Alsono and Kimi Rakkoinen, prove themselves yet again? Or will everyone favourite hot headed Columbian, Juan Pablo Montoya, win it for BMW-Williams?!

My day's summary... I was impressed with BAR's performance to come from nowhere last season to get 4th in qualifying and then get a points paying position. However, I'm disappointed with the BMW Williams effort.. Montoya... mate... what the hell was that start? I mean I like your agression, but that was just plain silly..
But that is not only the reason a non-Ferrari team won. The second reason being that Michelin tyres arent great in the cool weather like it was today. Michelin have been tryin to develope a good low temp tye, but it's still in the works. But we'll see what happens in Malaysia, with warm temps, and in future races.
I'm annoyed with how the commentators pretty much wrote off the other teams. I mean Ferrari is a great team, they have a good car with good aero-dynamics, and they also have possibly the most gifted driver in the paddock. However, you got to remember that Renault are getting their stuff together, they can be a force to be reckoned with. McLaren still owe us a new car, which was suppose to be released last year, but this year is the new date. Finally, Williams BMW have great engines, good pace and two good drivers who are great to watch.
Anyways, that's my F1 rant for the first race of the season, be sure to look forward to a review of the next race in Malaysia :D

Well, in 2005 talks are that Montoya wants to go to McLaren for the challenge, and to replace him are 2 possible candidates. Webber is one of them, the other driver's name escapes me. However, I hope he gets it, cos Jaguar are an ok mid order team. BUT, their reliability is shocking. It would good to see him run for a front running team like Williams BMW because Webber has been in points paying positions in the past, and 1 out of 2 he will not finish because something in the Jaguar will just give.
And Ferrari isnt the best, I mean they are pretty damn good... M Schumacher's the best :P
I don't remember the stats exactly (So go easy on me if its a bit off), but M Schumacher has completed the past 32 of 35 races. To me that shows Excellent reliability on ferrari's behalf, and excellent driving skill....

That's true, you are right, but compare that Barichello's record. I mean he's a good driver as well, but Rubens' does not have a similiar statistic at all... nowhere near in fact, I'll just say M Schumacher has incredible luck, I mean incredible. Like whenever the pit crew screws up, they screw up on Rubens' pit stop, the Ferrari team would 'appear' to give Rubens their 'B Game' and Schumie their 'A Game'. Last season was a good example for this.
