Since there has been a lot of talk about bad movies, I thought I might kick start a debate like this.

The two worst movies that I've paid to see at the cinema...

1. Pay Cheque
2. Swat

They're both relatively new releases, but even back to my years living in Adelaide I can't remember paying to see a movie and being as dissapointed as I was with those two. Walk-out material.

Post 2

I paid to see Windtalkers - stupid stupid me

But otherwise I've actually had a good record with cinema experiences - probably due to the fact that I don't go to the flicks all that often.

edit: Oh yeah - El Pres just reminded me - I also went to see Mission to Mars. Yarg.

Just on the same note im glad i DIDNT pay money to see the second one

blair witch project and universal soldier: the return

Post 7

I paid to watch the latest Star Trek movie.

I'm not sure why, actually. The last few sucked. This one just took general star trek suckitude to a new and wholly incredible high level of crapness.

I didn't see Mission to Mars at a cinema, but I did see it on a plane. As BrAiN DaNcE describes these things, it was a car wreck movie. The filthy critic said that watching it was like "sucking on a dildo until you got splinters in your lips". What an awful film.

Good thread idea, incidentally.

[edited for typos]

i dont agree with you mate about the star trek movies, funny that, we seem to disagree on a lot hehe

the worst movie i ever paid to see.....hmm.....big fish!

i saw akira on the big screen and top gun they both rocked!!!

Post 9

I think I'd side with El Presidente before you, 666. I also thought the last few ST movies were a big dissapointment, and I actually think Big Fish was quite a good film, all things considered.

1. SWAT (I paid to see pointless violences by sh1t acters, instead i got hardly any violence, a realy, realy bad plot and beyond sh1t acters)

Post 14

last few star trek movies???
do you guys mean to say that first contact sucked????

i so hope you're talking about insurrection and nemesis....

but back to topic

charlies angels...(oh boy...what a mistake)
Bring it on (cheerleading black vs white movie)
independence day (oh yay the american's save the day...with a virus...and with a mac at that...)
the sixth day (good issues about ethics, but poorly made movie)

and everyone is going to hammer me with vengeance when i say this one
return of the king....

i'm sure there are other's but these are the ones i can think of the top of my head.

Post 15

oh oh oh

and i can't believe i didn't (or anyone else for that matter) put this one in

ATTACK OF THE CLONES!!!

boy...what a corny movie

Post 16

battlefield earth. that was cataclysmically awful.

Post 17

oh that new shit house haunted mantion with eddie murphey
man, im not even going to start

Post 18

I'm gonna say the whole LOTR series not because they were especially 'bad' but I was greatly dissappointed to how great they SHOULD have been.

Post 19

Nick of Time - I literally fell asleep during that tripe.

Post 20

Ummm, Spy Kids most prob.... but that was in a marathon.... does that count?

Well if not than most probably PHONE BOOTH....

Oh my god... talk about boring..... 1 scene for the whole movie

Post 21

Phone Booth was extremely suspensful and the plot was interesting.
For a movie that WAS one scene, it was brilliant IMO.

Post 22

Windtalkers.
Battlefield Earth.

Post 23

Battlefield Earth.
Mars Attacks.
Reckless Kelly. ( I rememeber the preview was good though )

Post 24

legally blond...phwoar, that was a bad movie. may have been beaten by fast and furious 2 which was also mightily poor.

what's with the criticism of kill bill?

Post 25

Torque

Post 26

Hahahha Hawky.
I saw that sitting on the shelf (my 2nd job is at a vid store) and i thought "Im so not hiring that....even if it IS free" :P

A movie i was rather suprised by recently, however, was 'Love Actually'. It was actually a very witty comedy with a bit of Romance thrown in for good measure.

Post 27

I really enjoyed Love Actually as well, I'm glad I went to the cinemas to see it because it was worth the money :)

It's not exactly a "Must see on the big screen epic" but a very good movie overall :)

I actually thought Legally Blonde was ok... no. 2 on the other hand :|

Post 28

love actually rocked big fish was awesome too the guy who made that made beetle juice which is the only reason i went and saw it but it was awesome.... the worst movie of all time is just married omg what a load or horseshit its so f()cking crap

Post 29

yeh mixed reactions about phone booth. it was good being only one scene the WHOLE movie, but apart from that, meh...colion farrel

i didn't mind swat, why? because it was mindless. you can just sit there and admire the cool gun fights, and the guns etc. but apart from that.....once again...colin farrel :S

i was tempted to walk out of matrix:reloaded.
