although the Game release date is still sometime away. Some of u gamers might have the leaked version on H2 or D3 so what would ur expectations be when theses two game giants get released?
and
since the release of farcry the demands for a highend system that are able to run these new generation games are beginning to take shape
What do u think the Recommended system requirements would be when Halflife 2 and Doom3 get released taking in context that the Farcry engine Specs
Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 already have recommended machine specs.
You've started this topic with the wrong idea in mind... Half-Life 2 OR Doom 3? I don't think you can really compare the games, and the only thing seperating them will be ID fan-boys vs Valve fan-boys.
My expectations are high. I'll be purchasing and enjoying both.
I would like a concrete release date set on both so I have something to look forward to. I do think hl2 would be a great game as will Doom2. But all this waiting is making me care less and less about each game.
i know one thing, im gonna need to get rid of this Ti4200 if i want any eyecandy
but from carious things ive seen they are both set to be awesome games and the main downfall either will have will be all of the hype for em over the last 18 months or so.
Quote from uber tard: Same as Rec with vid cards. Both games should be awesome if they live up to expectations. Can't wait for the mods using hl2 engine though.
Yeah like CS ^^ I hope cs crashes and burns..gay game
Amen to mungus. I will be sticking with my 9700 Pro till I am richer. As for Doom, don't know if I will play it if it doesn't have co-op. I'm a woos when it comes to scary games. Might play to the first bad guy then sit under the table sucking my thumb till my wife turns the screen off.
Heh, I have my 68cm TV, with full dolby 5.1 set up (big sub :)) just waiting for doom 3, I'm gonna hook it up in the lounge room, turn off all the lights, crank the volume..... Gonna be coooooool!!
both games look freakin sick, i'll wait till they actually release to upgrade :D so, what's the deal -- is CS2 gonna be released seperate to Half-Life 2 but using the HL2 engine; or is gonna be a mod again that you can jus install if you've got HL2?

... That all sounds so very nice, until you see Fleshy's new setup. ;)

So far there isn't anything on CS2. There is CS: Source - which is CS with the HL2 engine. And you will have to pay extra for it. As for CS2, I'm guessing it's going to be another CS:CZ.
Ruin - x800 time ;)
Rec - ooooh, do tell :D Although I'm sure the game will make you shit your pants no matter what sort of setup you have (I don't count 2 channel sound with a 12" fishbowl monitor as a 'setup' :p).

well i have a GF 3 ti 4200 and i can run farcry on medium setting sfor everything and 1024 *768 res, only gets jerky if a massive firefight happens, so thats, but also depends on whether the environment is outside or indoors, indoors has vastly improved performance, i havent finished it yet but how many levels are there in FARCRY.
As to Doom 3 or Half Life 2, im with rec, im going to buy both!!!
As for a Ti4200 (where'd you come up with a GF3Ti4200? ... erm. There's a GF3Ti200 or a GF4Ti4200...). It is nothing on a 9800 or FX card in terms of performance or IQ. And will hobble in Doom 3 and Half Life 2. + It doesn't even have DX9 technology... so you're missing out on a lot.
yeh well, good news, i got enough cash to buy myself a 9800 pro, so now im happy, didnt want to go for xt cause price difference is $200, damn man thats alot
well, im just about to get a 9800 Pro, hopefully that should be a good upgrade from my GF 3 ti 200!!!!, and i think ill be sticking with that until the PCI-E cards have had their first or second upgrade:-)
