umm im a newbie at this i used to have optus cable but i recently moved to a new location which unfortunately dosent have cable access, iv been looking at internode and i was wondering is 1500/256 better than 512/512?
id appreciate any comments on the subject as i would like the best so as i can kick ass on multiplayer games... :D
Well your obviously not in the NT so not too sure the difference of 1500/256 compared to 512/512 is elsewhere. But I'd take a a guess and say your pings are somewhat lower than what we have here and you would probably benefit from the 1500/256 more than the 512/512 in terms of gaming/pings etc.
As for other uses, can you really compare them? lol One downloads 3 times faster while uploads twice as slow, now you go figure what you need :)
As for Internode, damn solid ISP, great support and provide a wonderful serivce overall.
If you're coming from cable I would recommend going for 1500/256 if you can afford it. Of course the 150K/s or so maximum speed available from 1500/256 cannont compare to uncapped 500K/s or so cable speeds.
It also depends on how much you are planning to download and how large your average file sizes are whether you will notice a large speed difference. Personally, after I moved from 512/128 to 1500/256 I don't think I could go back. I got a need, a need for speed... *waits patiently until Telstra offers new dsl line speeds* 2048/1024 anyone?
