Recently a friend showed me Knights of the Round on snes emulator and I remembered I used to play it heaps at the arcade but had forgotten all about it. So I went home and got Mame and the arcade version :D, So tried to rememeber other games and got Final Fight which ruled, and got the sequels I had never played.

Old school has its place.... but I like the newer and more complex beat em ups....
stuff like tekken, KOF (not so good at that one :P), Guilty gear, SF3, and MvC2.
Just the way you can roll from total defense to full on sceen destroying offence with a flick of the wrist realy makes it fun for me :)

Aren't we talking about beat'em'ups
BattleToads!

Mortal Kombat.
Killer Instinct.
Although I love Soul Caliber & SC2, I'm not really into the new wave of 3D fighters - not quick enough. Guilty Gear roxors my socks and I love 2d fighters.

Nothing beats the early tekkens

Yeah, I liked Killer Instinct and Street Fighter in the old days.
Fun, weekend wasting games :P

Urmm yes, alot do, tekken 1 is PAINFUL to play nowadays, number 2 is not nice either, but that is where the series began to take a more definate form
Tag IMO is a better game then 4, but I still like 4 much more then 3,
And from what I have heard 5 is going to play more like tag then it is 4 woo :)

Can we concentrate on the scrolling beat'em ups not the versus fighter beat'em ups :P I think we've heard enough of those.

double dragon PWNED.

Hmmm... STREET FIGHTER! Street Fighter was leet. Still is. Battle Toads was pretty good too. Games that only have 3 or so lives to finish the game in are good. They required skill... Although I wouldn't trade it in for Save Games... they're helpful with the vast games we play now...

Battle Toads! Haha, that game rocked. Not sure whether this would class as a beat-em-up but that's what you did, Alex the Kid. First game I ever played on SEGA. Lets not forget about the classic Shinobi!
