OH, and how's the yanks effort - downer has just upped our effort from 10 to 35mill, now more than the entire US effort, and how big is our GDP - maybe we should blow up a bomb over there and call it a terrorist attack - might get a better response from the american wankers...
EDIT:
Fair enough, the euros arent any better...
Maybe if we told everyone they had oil or a disposable income....
you go to donate blood at red cross blood centres, number is 131495, which goes to the nation wide switchboard.
i have no money until tomorrow, so will definately donate some money, can't think of a better cause
rang right after seeing this thread to go donate blood, but my bank is booked for the next 3 weeks, which is a great thing. so will go donate plasma soon instead
Take 20% from the war fund would help just about all these people in different countries. Stingy rich countries said Jan Egeland UN spokesperson & he was correct. Sad thing he had to retract his comments, welcome to free speech & democracy Jan.
I donated some of me Christmas money, "00 it’s not much but ever little bit helps.
Quote from Wrathlon: Surely they can test you to clear you of that....like anything else they test for when u donate blood
Apparently Mad Cow Disease stays dormant in the bloodstream for several years before it attacks the body, so tests could be done but they would take like 10 years to complete so it isnt worth it.
Quote from El Presidente: I went to donate on the Red Cross site, but my el cheapo visa debit card once again made a fool of me.
Anyone know where I can donate to the red cross appeal? Are donations being taken at any shops? Post office etc?
Australia will obviously pledge more aid to countries that they have close ties with, and are geographically close. Compare Australia and the USA's aid to Cuba during the floodings and hurricanes, and you'll see huge difference proportional to their GDP. Same with Middle Eastern aid towards the Iranian earthquake. Taking shots at the Americans over the amount of their aid pledge in this situation is petty.
That said, the Americans have pledged 350 million at this point, and possibly more depending on the situation. you'll notice that they have been upping their pledges repeatedly as the extent of the damage/destruction is being unfolded.
America has been the leader in war, so it is expected they will lead in other times to. Besides they are meant to have closer ties than we do with Indonesia. It looks like this might draw the world together like never befor, but a million dollars these days to the fat cats is not much. I want to know what the Hiltons and Packers of the world have done. Petty or not.
Oh with the blood, make sure you have NOT been drinking or smoking. They test it and throw it out and waste time and money on it.
Remember to reflect on the 16th. Wear white for Peace.
i can't give blood...i pass out and start having a seizure. NO idea why, im perfectly healthy and no defects. Oh well, im donating to Big W box thingo salvo's blah blah .. well it's going to asia so w00t :)
