RTS - Dawn of War 2v2 to be played at 7pm friday night
FPS - CS:Source 5v5 to be played at 7pm saturday night
Racing - NFSU2 individual - to be played from 12pm sunday (midday)
CS:Source comp will be run with legit servers only, cracked versions of the client will soon become a danger to holders of legit steam accounts due to the imminent release of VAC.
NFSU2 races will be with NO career cars, race breaker and collisions will be enabled, and you must use the same car for all races. There will be three rounds, Drag, Drift and Circuit of 3 races each. The highest points holders will then go onto a finals round. Tracks will be chosen and released on friday 21st.
Quote from tn1: is there anything happening for DC ? I don't think an official comp would be worth having, but we definitely need to organise another scrim like last time. :grin:
from what i heard.... i also voted for wc3 and when the thread was meant to be closed off the score was
war3 = 19 dow = 18
when i spoke to harby, he said that the poll did not matter one bit at all... it was only to give a 'direction' .... but yeh... lol ... interesting enough
WC3 has also had several goes at competition already at previous dga events, also seeing as not everyone who attends and enters the competitions will come here just to vote on what competition is done. It makes sense to use the poll as a guide for what interests there are.
So it's not your votes mean 'sweet fa', they do indeed give an idea what's generally wanted.
RTS and CS will be double elim, depending on numbers.
as for the polls, when I closed the poll, DoW was in the lead, thats enough justification for me, and the votes were close enough that either would have been fine.
I would have preferred a bfme comp, would have been a laff.

votes or no votes, its been decided life happens, no one is stopping you having a game of Warcraft 3 seperate, or even making your own little competion with people that want to play it, as long as it doesnt get in the way of the DGA comps i guess.
most havent had the chance to play DoW in comps or infact verse people on a lan, wereas warcraft has been around for years.
just a reminder - be sure to run cs source just before you leave for evo to ensure you have all the latest updates. otherwise on the day, steam is going to make all our lives very unpleasant.
