Have a problem with a Moderators decision?

Ok both as a Member and a Moderator here I am getting very sick and tired about people posting in posts about what Moderators have done to posts/threads. It is really annoying trying to read something only to read people bitching about something silly..

If people have a problem with what a Moderator has done to their posts/threads or other peoples as well, then please PM the Moderator to talk about the problem. Stop filling the forums with useless crap.

I for one am tired of it and will delete any bitching people do. Either PM, email, msn, icq, whatever a moderator or shutup, but please keep the forums free of all this complaining.

There are a lot of Moderators and we aren't as bad as some people seem to think, maturity can go a long way, try it sometime.

i think you hit the nail on the head jono

Post 3

Nice post Jono. :)

Post 4

Ok. Then it should go both ways. Moderators should listen to the issues forum users have and actually implement them. All ive noticed is the same problem keeps coming up time and time again. If moderators stopped doing it then there wouldn't be complaining.

Post 5

Damn right!! I hear that SperO...moderators should watch what they say and do too...
someone might just break a nail...lol!!

Post 6

Ok then, what are the issues forum users are having? No one has ever PMd me anything in regards to problems on this forum. I am more then happy to listen to any problems, just PM the problem and i'll see what I can do about it. But honestly.. who really wants to read through posts and see the bitching and other crap that goes on here?

But i'm going to agree with Paladin on this, its always the same people who seem to have "issues", everyone else is fine or at least gets over it instead of complaining more. Would love for you to tell me Spero (and no offence, but you always seem to have something to say about this issue of Mods).

I'm just trying to keep everyone happy is all.

Everyone always has a different perception of how things should be run/done. *sigh*

We should make this a dictatorship. Kill everyone that doesn't adhere to the common thought. That'll shut people up :p

I’ve got no problems at all what people write on these forums.
Reason is I don’t take anything serious here plus words don’t hurt people if you chose to ignore them. It’s that easy I just wish other people would do the same.

That’s cause no one has a problem with you. It’s like there are only a few people that get moderated, there are only a few moderators that people have problems with.

I have not been bothered to post on this topic cause I have realized that basically mods get the last say, but I had to point out that fact.

Post 10

Funny how it's only the mods that actually moderate that those few seem to have a problem with.

Post 11

Exactly, but on the other token there are mods that overlook lots of things but these notorious ones will always want to flex their muscles by pouncing on the slightest thing they can.

I did have two more paragraphs for here but I culled them because I know what will happen if I posted them. I would of got a smart ass answer followed by some tit tad abuse then I would have to read it and reply to it, increasing my shitty mood (no the mood isn’t because of these boards atm) when really I don’t want to reply. I’m fairly sure ill have to though because mods always like to bite and have the last sentence instead of turning their back like we are always expected to do :)

Is it really that bad in here, or has it been made worse because people in here usually know other in real life as well?

I spend a lot of my time in IGN and we have 20000 users of which about 10% would be active on the forums in there. We rarely have to delete stuff for the amount of people we have. Mainly because there are set rules with how far people can go, and they are made clear for both admins and users.

Maybe a serial spammer should get a longer ban than 24 hours, or a flamer making a personal attack get 72 hours. Or keep a master list of trouble makers in the admin section and give the 3 strikes and then a weeks holiday from posting.

O well that is my rambling 2c worth.

Post 13

Exactly my point Jono :) I wouldn't keep saying it if it wasn't a problem. Personally my only problem is the bias nature of these forums.

Though I think the moderation has been done fine lately and KIZA's post was useless. The idea of mods posting why they are closing threads helps much. I even agreed with Phens ban because of his spam.

However I still think moderators get away with to much spam themselves or friends of moderators. It's not as excessive as it was but I believe we need to keep the rules the same for everyone.

Post 14

it's pretty simple. if ALL you do is post crap, you get moderated heavily. if you're a generally productive and decent poster, you're more likely to have some leeway in what you post and what you can get away with.

Post 15

Look, its a forum, get over it.
If you dont like being moderated, dont post shit.
If you dont like what someone says, move on to the next paragraph/post.

Do you read books and write a letter to the author, because you dont like how the plot unfolds?

ME :p

But then again thats why i read the l2orphus forum. ;)

HarbRinger is the biggest tool.

Thinks just because somone says something that he disagrees with he can just delete it. Thought moderators were not meant to be like this and actually use good judgement.

Post 18

and yet your judgment in posting rubbish such as 'there's no point to the timetable' is beyond question?

that thread isn't there for your personal commentary. it's there to let gamers know what the timetable for evo5 will be.

Post 19

WELL as one of the few DGA members doesent that count for something. You guys are quite welcome to make a time table, i was just informing you that i wont be following it. and i cant afford 20 different games that i am only gonna play for a lan if that.

Post 20

the fact that you slandered it by saying 'as if anyone would play it'

Post 21

well they hardly followed the scedule last lan, cs source took over and i feel this will happen again.

Post 22

err ... no. the timetable was fairly successful last lan.

maybe on your computer..

actually, the timetable saw MORE people in MORE games the entire time.. DC went off with bigger numbers than i have ever seen at a DGA event.

Post 24

well i did not participate, therefore i thought it was unsuccessful clearly im in the minority.

Post 25

Woo woo red firetruck....

/Ninja thread hijacker leaves(as if you saw me in the first place)!

Post 26

I thought the schedule worked great last lan. Heaps of people in all the games.

Post 27

FYI

The GU mods don't moderate the DGA boards unless asked, they seem to do a pretty good job of deleting anything they don't like themselves :P

DGA moderation should not be confused with GU board mods.

I think everyone here agrees OD is a fair fellow. If you think you have a case for being unfairly moderated against PM him .

Frenzy any more of that Orphus crap and when I finish laughing....ill ban your ass :)
( HELLO WOOHOO RED FIRE TRUCK MOD ABUSE) :P
