username Gamers-Underground

I personally used to fold for Crusher on team 24
I should get back into it again i used to pump out the WU's with my hyperthreading enabled cpu

Post 3

pft hyperthreading....try 7 cpus :)

Post 4

HardOCP was getting close 60 days off an overtake at one point. Seppos with CPU power. Get to it! www.overclockers.com.au/folding

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_overtake.php?s=&t=24

team 24

Post 5

How many points per 24hr do you put out with those 7 CPU's?

Post 6

Yep we do,
been trying to get back into it but trying to save power atm with all my machines so haven't been folding really.

But yeah we're a subteam of OCAU. Team 24. Username: Gamers-Underground.

Post 7

dunno, i will check in the morning, one comp doesnt seem to want to do it now

Post 8

Alright I’m starting up my folding@home career again.
Ill be contributing to the Gamers-Underground sub team on the OCAU team (team 24) I encourage all people who want to join in the excitement to jump onboard.

It’s fairly simple to do. You download and install the program.

Username: Gamers-Underground
Team: 24
And off ya go basically

Gamers-Underground are currently ranked 274th (as of 2.49am on the 15th feb) on the OCAU team. If we get a couple of people onboard we should boot up to 250ish within a few days I assume. If we get more then a couple we could be soaring up the ladder.
http://vspx27.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=userpage&teamnum=24&username=Gamers%2DUnderground

If you want to know what F@H actually is I have no idea other then some science thing that is meant to be for research but its more of a fun game to me lol
http://folding.stanford.edu/ is the site for it, so it might have some useful stuff.

Post 9

i'm still folding for the GU team

Post 10

same same, started again :-D

Post 11

Come on you slack bastards we only done 2 WU’s in the last 4 days
Everyone doing it, double check your settings and make sure the team number and team name is correct
Check out these stats there better http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=122

Also if anyone knows how to tweak the F@H5 text only program for a p4 with ht let me know as my F@H4 doesn’t work anymore so I’m just using the normal F@H5 client and its slow as :(

Post 12

just changed my pcs over to Gamers-Underground, but only got 2 on at the moment.....

others will be up latr to fold

Post 13

make sure u are on team 24, as some are folding for team 21 (Ausgamers)

Post 14

+1 up the ranks within OCAU.

Post 15

back folding ;) go us.

Post 16

What size are the packets of information uploaded and downloaded?
I would like to join in but the cost of downloads at college is fairly high I think.

Post 17

Download a WU takes about 100kb to half a meg, upload results is about half a meg too I think.

Post 18

Thanks, I'll have to check the cost of downloads

Post 19

I fold my undies ... does that help ?

Post 20

That all depends on whether you're shipping them off to Stanford now, doesn't it.

Post 21

And I washed them first ...

Post 22

i've folded for GU ever since i joined :)

Post 23

OK - I'm folding again :p

Post 24

Bumpity. :)

Winter is just about here. The folding is now 24/7

Post 25

yeah, mine still runs, done like 31 WU's.
only thing is i use the GUI version, and it dont like WoW, so when i play that, it must come down

Post 26

Most people tend to use the console version plus it runs faster slightly.

Post 27

K downloaded the console version... and i did set it as a system resource...

is it ok to close the .exe program or does it have to remain open?, i dont see fah502 as system in task manager

Post 28

Probably do have to have it open for the console version
Just remember to set the username: Gamers-Underground and team: 24 (overclockers australia)

Post 29

*bump

First post edited. Added pretty graphs.

We're gaining on the yanks.

Post 30

the hell, my cpu started beeping what does it mean?, to hot? its about 53~
closed f@h and stopped, any ideas?

Post 31

yeh. sounds like you're CPU overheat alarm in your BIOS is set to <53C. Set it to about 60C and you should be fine.

Post 32

k going to sleep and dont want house woken up lol.

sister thought it was firealarm and came running ahah

Post 33

is your sister hot?

Post 34

who cares... yours is.

Post 35

about 95,000 points left to chase them down. Was about 115k yesterday.

Post 36

im going to start my folding again, just for a bit of fun.
runnign a p4 2.6c
are these the correct things i need to make it work fast?
-local -forceasm -advmethods -verbosity 9

Post 37

Yep, I can't remember what local does, verbosity doesn't really matter. But the forceasm, and advmethods is good.

Post 38

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_list.php?s=&t=24&p=3

Post 39

Running again. I really need to sit down for a few moments at some point in time and write myself a start-up script for it :P.

Post 40

lol n00b question... :?

What is folding?

Post 41

i uploaded 4 WU's since tuesday morning
we are 261st on the OCAU ladder, lets get higher :)

Post 42

We just cracked the 90,000 Milestone

Post 43

Sweet, we have now gone into the 400+ points per day category which is great. lets keep it there.

Post 44

Its a program that makes use of anyones spare cycles to add as processing power trying to work out a cure for cancer by studying how proteins fold....at least thats my understanding of it anyway.

Post 45

#271 on the OCAU list, down by 10!!!

Anyway I've been ramping up the number of machines folding 24/7 with the arrival of winter.

Post 46

Okay and we're up for the State of Origin as "Gamers-Underground"

Post 47

whats the link so i can see how good we are going in the State of Origin??

So what's happened to the GU Folding team? I see it's down to #396 on Overclockers Australia, with one CPU active in the last 50 days...

If you're looking for some motivation, DarwinHigh leads you by 205 positions @ #191... if that's not enough to motivate... how about the Yanks are beating us with team 33 ([H]ardOCP).

Wake those damn CPUs up and step up!

Cya round

Post 53

It's cold, and I need warmth. So I've fired up folding again along with the PS3 when it's not running GTAIV (if ever).

*Cough*
Kagetsu - User Summary - EXTREME Overclocking Folding @ Home Stats

Nice to see people joining the battle again here!
For those who aren't aware, OCAU is currently holding a folding comp. Suggest everybody joins, but you may wish to use your own folding name. ^_^'

For those who aren't aware... If you're using a Core2 based machine, RUN THE SMP client. (the 5.91 V6 is easier, but the 5.92 V6 is much more stable).
They're both only client based, but on anything higher then an E6600 your average points will jump to over 1000PPD.

Consider that my stats there are from:

Q6600 x 2 (1 currently down) - Gets about 2400ppd (dual SMP instances in both cases)
E6600 x 1 - Gets about 1400ppd
T7600 x 1 - 1200ppd
PS3 x 1 - 1000ppd
(coming soon)
Q9300 x 1 - Unknown
QX9650 x 1 - Unknown

In there are a few other little machines that don't impact my score all that much.

Post 55

Put some effort into it GU...

Post 56

Quote from Kagetsu;344888:
Put some effort into it GU...
Switch some of your machines back to Gamers-Underground. :p

It's currently 11C inside the house, so I've fired all my machines up along with the PS3 and one GPU2 client.

Back up we go. :)

Post 58

Stuff that, my name is a single user powerhouse. ^o^ Or will be shortly... Will be back into the top 20.

FYI. Kagetsu is my username. :p

Post 59

I should fire it up our 2xDual Quad Core Xeon servers at work.

Post 60

I HAVE THE POWERRRRR!!!

GPU2 is destroying these WUs.

Post 61

Indeed.

Post 62

Oooh. I detect a 5000ppd increase from me. :p

Here's my challenge. If gamers-underground can fold hard enough to beat me to 2Million Points, I'll throw a BBQ for the Darwin boys with beer (for the older lads) (total cost not to exceed $250. ^_~)

My username is Kagetsu, and I'm a little over 500,000 points from the mark.

Post 63

Still getting cock blocked on GPU WUs.

My 8800GTX requires more work,
