ok, so I headed over to curse-gaming after forgetting which mods everyone told me to get as a priest, and for ****'s sake... there's mods for everything you could ever want to do. like, ever.
mods to autocast stuff? sure! loot logs? easy! need to tell everyone when you're up the creek and can't cast because that big undead rog fellow is chomping at your bit from the shadows? done! cheese & pepperoni pizza? MOD it!
so anyway, here it is: what's useful to you and why?
so far, I think I could use all of them. so, basically, I'm screwed. cause then I'd be sifting through so much shit I'd never actually get to play anything :p
Cosmos Alpha (with all class specific stuff that isnt hunter disabled) Atlas Popbar Titanbar Critline (with titanbar support) Combatstats (with titanbar support) WoWplayer (Control iTunes from WoW - titanbar support) Calculator Bankitems (Lets you see whats in the bank of all your characters, both horde and alliance) CTRA (never leave for a raid without it)
doyen as a 60 priest who runs mc/ony/zg constantly there is only 1 mod that is necessary. /decursive. the single most greatest mod for a priest ever. apart from that the other nices ones are ones that interupt a heal if the target has over x% health or x hp. Help so healing groups don't over heal mt. apart from that go with what suits your style.
Titanbar - because its just so goddamned handy. Take a glance and you have a lot of information. Titanbar has a lot of addons for itself as well - like Recap which is a damage monitoring tool. Atlas - good when you can't remember the sequence for ST :P CTMod - because I don't use hotkeys that much, I like having my spells where I want them. Then there's the extra features like mass mail, target displays etc. CTRaid Assist - the single, best addon for any instance. You'll see why when we start running you through ZF/Mara/ST, Doy.
I also have whispercast for curses but CTRA got rid of that with an assigned mouse button to queue up curse removal.
manually decursing is too much effort when you're looking after more than 5 and when raids take 4 hours+ it's just too much hassle. besides you can't do it as fast manually as you can spamming decursive. but hey whatever floats your boat
Oh and yeah ct raid is pretty much required in most guilds for late-game raid stuff
Quote from uber tard: manually decursing is too much effort why bother playing the game then if you just get a mod to do it for you? Quote from uber tard:

as far as i'm concerned, it's called playing your class. Quote from uber tard:
besides you can't do it as fast manually as you can spamming decursive. news to me, you can't have the next target selected before the global cooldown on dispel is over? reroll new pc imo.

I don't play the game to spam dispell as fast as possible for 4 hours. I find that boring. I see 40man raids as a means to an end - phat lewt. MC and ony are really really boring after the first time or two. Seriously they are. I don't know where you're up to in the game but all raids get shit boring after the first couple of times. The only thing that keeps me interested now is guild vs. guild pvp.
So what I should've said was, while it is possible to do it manually, I find it boring and am too lazy to do it. If doing it entertains you, and makes it feel like you're "playing your class", good for you.
i ran mc a few times, then decided it was too much like a chore, and not enough like fun, and more or less stopped playing completely after that. regardless of if you're using decursive or doing it by hand, you're still spamming dispel, only difference is you get to make a few choices doing it manually.
Cause BWL isnt a simple bash and smash like MC is. The rag fight is just a "Get fire resist and DPS as much as possible" fight. The rest of the bosses is nothing really involved - banish a mob here, kill a mob there.
