A forum post has blown the cover off the World of Warcraft expansion pack which was expected to be announced at this year's Blizzcon next week. The information reveals the title, the new races, new class, new max level, new areas and new high-end instances among other things.

A week before Blizzcon is scheduled to open its doors and reveal the details of the upcoming expansion to the WoW world, a post by the user Spy Bot in the WoWguru forums, describes every little detail about the expansion and it appears that Blizzard insiders have secretly confirmed most of the information in the topic. There is unlikely however, to be any official response top the topic until Blizzard is ready for the official announcement at the Blizzcon event in a week's time.

As revealed by the forum post the title of the expansion pack will be The Burning Crusade while two new races, the Blood Elves (Horde) & Draenei (Alliance) and a new class; that of Spell Breaker.

The post is pretty long. Sounds exciting.

EDIT: Blizzard has released some information about their new Expansion on their site: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/burningcrusade/

Quote:
Several years have passed since the Burning Legion's defeat at Mount Hyjal and the races of Azeroth have continued to rebuild their once shattered lives. With renewed strength, the heroes of the Horde and Alliance have begun to explore new lands and broken through the Dark Portal to investigate the realms beyond the known world. Will these heroes find friends or foes? What dangers and rewards lie in wait beyond the Dark Portal? And what will they do when they discover that the demons they thought vanquished have returned to renew their terrible Burning Crusade?

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade is the exciting new expansion to Blizzard's award-winning massively multiplayer online role-playing game. It expands the game by tremendous bounds, adding new races, lands, Battlegrounds, professions and items, and more. Here is just a partial list of what you can expect from the World of Warcraft expansion:- An increase in the level cap to 70

- Two new playable races, including the magical Blood Elves

- New starting zones in Quel'Thalas and beyond

- The entire new continent of Outland, reachable through the Dark Portal

- Many new high-level dungeons to explore in Azeroth, Outland, and elsewhere

- New flying mounts in Outland

- Many new and dangerous monsters, including epic world bosses

- Hundreds of new quests

- Hundreds of new items

- A new profession: Jewelcrafting

- Socketed items

- And much, much more...

However there isn't much on the site at the moment.

If spellbreakers turn out to be true, they will be so ****en overpowered.

Post 3

there is way too much info it to be made up. some of it must be true. hope so :)

nah i dont think they will, they arent very powerfull melee or spell attack wise, they just neautralise casters and serve a little defence.

Post 4

omg sex! and i was just quitting too :( yeah in wc3/tft breakers rape casters/buffers but get raped by melee. probably be some middle ground between that i would say. if only they got to use those crazy spinning glaive thingys that the blood elf chaps use in wc3. those things are awesome.

Post 5

as if casters dont get raped enough already.

Post 6

Summed it up perfectly Pala...

These 'spell breakers' would have to have no offensive spell casting ability for there to be any balance. Otherwise, mages become merely waterboys (more so than we already are) & locks will be lucky to get a group unless you need something banished or someone summoned.

But, too many things set this off as "not bloody likely". A raise in the level cap for instance... hero classes, yes... level cap increase, no. The new dungeons? puh-lease - 100player, 50per faction raid... err.

Some of it may be true, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Post 7

It would add a new dimension to GvG pvp though. Healers would no longer be the primary target, as the warrior classes would take on a role of defending their own casters.

Post 8

correct. if the warriors, rogues and spellbreakers all go for the casters first than they will get raped by a team full of people willing to protect the casters. after all casters do the most damage and healing. damage to multipul targets that is, not just one.

it'll make it different, and we dont know if its true yet. i read this...so i dont really believe it all now

ICECROWN MOUNTAIN:
Icecrown mountain is the most difficult instance to ever be in Azeroth, and will challenge anyone to stand against the power of not only the Lich King's armies, and his most trusted lieutenant, Anub'arak, but also the Immortal Lich King himself.

This is a 100-player max level raid instance, and will challenge the Horde and Alliance to work together to defeat the Immortal Lich King. To have the full 100 players, 50 players of max level on Horde and 50 players of max level on Alliance must work together, merging both groups of 50 into one large raid party. Upon Icecrown, Horde and Alliance may not attack eachother at any time, but are instead able to aid eachother. Leaders of the Argent Dawn have also worked together to teach the Alliance and Horde to understand both, Common and Orcish, so they may communicate as they work together to defeat the Immortal Lich King.

i really dont think thats true. double raid parties maybe...but the only thing keeping this game going is horde trying to outdo alliance and vice versa. "OMG we kill Rag before you alliance poofs. FIrst on SerVer!!!1uno"

what WoW really needs though, is a bard-class, with lots of nice buffs.

speed buffs, mana regen buffs, damage and resistance buffs, all that good stuff. .. and they could all played to the immortal soundtrack of 'men in tights' :p

Post 11

Oi!
We've already got Night Elves to fill that roll, thank you very much! :p

Post 16

i'll dance around in tights all day long as long as im doing it on your corpse :)

Post 17

doyen, they won't give the alliance a "bard class" wif lots of pretty buffs, because between the classes already available to alliance almost every buff is covered. just not all at once (and a bard type class would have a limit of how many buffs he can put on one person, probably 1... so it's not really going to add anything to the game).

as much as I think it's cool that you've trolled every WoW post here in the last 5 minutes, I wasn't talking about whether it's balanced.. it's just what I want.

.. and you can't always get want you want.
.. but you can try sometimes ..
.. and you just might find ..
