Hey not sure if this is the right place but was wondering if anyone knew anyone in darwin who does xbox modding or anything?
I just got a new xbox but dunno really where to start.
I've looked on xbox scene and stuff but not quite sure... haha..

with the solderless adaptors, u can can just do it urself for around "30 with one of the best chips

Are there any cheaper alternatives to "30 solderless chips? Ones that are good and work well, im not looking for any special features such as LCD display and shit like that.
Also i read somewhere that even solderless chips require a small solder? Or is that just to keep the chip down which can be done other ways?

the older model is cheaper and it can be solderless aswell

thanks for the input but I tried everything electrical and got a $210 quote which is a bit much for the $50 modchip they use (x-lite)!
hmm... is there a way to softmod a 1.6 with kernel 5838?
they also have an adapter for ppl who were unlucky enough to have a 1.6 xbox

if u need cheaper they also have the older chip which is still an awesome modchip with the solderless adaptor for $90...u can still get alot cheaper modchips - mine only cost me $40 (applexV) - but its has to be soldered and is not as good as the xecutor range which is pretty much the best chips i have seen for xbox

yeah I got an offer for tn1 for $200 using a DuoX2 chip...
As can beseen on the sites u two passed on the chip is only worth about $30-35 with say "0 shipping which is a "60 profit...
Also out of curiousity.. where is this Actualization company based??

And what if he buggers it up?? I'm sure you'd expect him to replace it.

Whats the best chip you can get with minimal restrictions to HDD size? Is there a cheaper chip that can do the same (restrictions?) Bang for buck?

Don't bother modding your xbox - wait 4 months, buy an Xbox 360 and mod that - a more better idea if you ask me

Yeah it will be a while before I buy either PS3 or 360, I'm not a big console gamer, only a few games I like. I just want it for media centre. My plan is to run linux on it as extra. Would like to try for it to be the client frontend for my backend Myth TV server (just need some parts to finish the server)

Some guys were doing software mods that let you run media centre on 1.6 boxes apparently. I dunno if its possible because of 1.6 hardware limitations but I've heard its not as stable as running a chip but of course there's other benefits I suppose. If you're not up for xbox live then I'd go a chip personally.
They've already had some luck reverse engineering the new 360's in China.
Hey while we're at it would these same people mod the PS2? If not, know anyone in Darwin that would.
