I've had major sinus problems for years now, with nothing prescribed or available over the counter in Australia doing didley-squat.
Well my Asthma started playing up in London, then I got the flu in France - headache, further sinus issues, fever. Anyway, I went into a pharmacy and made the best effort I could to ask for something to fix all of this, using handy signals. :P
They handed over a pack of tablets, which cost 5 Euros (just under AUD "0). It stopped my left nostril from running, and opened up my right - breathing fine. It has also made breathing in general easier by mimising my Asthma symptoms (which is good because I can't get a ventolin puffer here without perscription ironically), thus less wheezing and coughing. And I went from feeling like I needed to be laid up in bed to walking about Paris feeling damn fine, except perhaps a little dazed & relaxed at times.
Anyway how much better I had been feeling since taking my first tablet didn't even dawn on me until earlier today. Alas I wanted to know what the wonder drug was, and indeed it's the allusive pseudoephedrine. So much help, so much relief, and it cost me 5 Euros over the counter in Paris.
So much for the $350+ I spent on doctors visits and prescription drugs in Australia over the last few years trying to fix my sinus issues, and more I thought I was going to have to spend on an operation.
pseudoephedrine isn't hard to get here, it's over the counter stuff. they will take your name and details and put it into a big database to make sure you're not stocking up for a meth lab though.

You can't get the most effective form of pseudoephedrine in australia. It is required to mixed with other chemicals which do reduce its effectiveness it does also make it a heck of a lot harder to be used in MDMA manufacter.

sorry was thinking off the wrong class of amphetamine its been 10 years since I studied organic chemisty and number of years since I sat in on the last chemical precusor conference(some of the real stories of drug busts are more intereasting than typical crime TV). But the rest of my point remains just change MDMA for Methamphetamine
maybe you're referring to norpseudoephedrine and/or ephedrine when you're talking about other forms of the drug? they are most definately harder to obtain in Australia - I'd assume cause it's easier to make them into meth than pseudo or something.

No pharmacy I ever visited in Adelaide or Sydney could provide pseudoephedrine based drugs over the counter, nor via prescription. It simply wasn't available in any way, shape or form from - not even being on a special list, which I made special note of asking about. I made many inquiries, not even doctors could help.

I've always been able to get sudafed when I wanted it... you must go to shitty chemists.
I recently discovered in the USA, their cold and flu tablets have 120mg pseudoephedrine in them compared to 15-30 in the stuff I've had here over the years.
Also, I agree with phenylephrine not giving the relief of the "real deal", but they're becoming harder to find. I spoke with a pharmacist in an Adeliade CBD pharmacy and she said no-one in the CBD would stock anything with pseudoephedrine in them at all any more, but I can still get them at my local pharmacy if I provide all the details for their list.
If you have the flu you can get them here, just got and ask over the counter, i got two boxes when i was sick, and it is indeed awesome shit if you are congested. Doesnt necessarily give you a high, but when you're sick its ****ing gold.
Ephedrine is better :P its a strong version, that actually is a stimulant.
but if you're really congested/sick, methylenedioxymethamphetamine is massively better than both :P
I actually used to take 6 to 8 Sudafed tablets at once when I have to work shifts over the weekend and party in between (when I was a young fella). I'm surprised my heart didn't stop.
Well if Rec does indeed spend as much time on his knees as people in this forum would have you believe, I would imagine he would at the very least get a sore throat once in a while :P

Shows how long it has been since I've bought any cold and flu tablets...I just figured out thats what the PE stands for on the new sudafed - phenylephrine..

Not in Australia, anyway. The whole idea when it was removed from shelves was to make it inaccessible over the counter, and now you're hard pressed to find any doctor that will prescribe it, or if they do, any chemist/pharmacy that you can actually get it from once prescribed.
oh and theres sudafed pe... which just has the pseudoephedrine 30mg, which i use if im playing tennis and hay fever gets me as i forgot to take a charntyme in the morning.

in darwin you have to supply ID and they put it in a computer system so you can't buy them too often. people used too buy 10 a day from different chemists and make fake pills :P
