Well thats it fellaz..... its officially dead, as of 5:00pm AEST 30/5/02.
It was good while it lasted.....

I've decieded to give iprimus a go, see how it is.... So far so good :)
Signing up took 5 mins, the service was available shortly after signing up, and the speeds etc seem to be decent so far :)

heh I was connected until 1:30am on the 31st :) When I heard the modem disconnect it was a sad moment. I could still dialup and login but there was nothing goin on... attempts to browse the net got me sent two email's from optus.. I couldn't help but try :) After a few moments silence in recognition of the passing of the dog I simply dialled into Optusnet who I signed up for at the last minute. Found out a few hrs after signing up that they are raising prices next month and scrapping the 250 hr plan in November so prolly going to Dot next month.

No my pings arn't outstanding, they never were. Back in the good old days, when you were still an itch in your fathers crotch, I had 450 ping, yet still enjoyed playing..... and will continue too.

And the reason I haven't been playing much on Octa4 is because the school term is drawing closer to an end, and much work is still to be done.

i am with dot.com and i sujest u dont go with them
they arent very good i recon cause when i am surfing net it will like stop for 30 seconds or so and this happens ever 3 min or around there anyway
and the pings are way shit i was pinging at likr 300 with dingo blue and not like 350-500

but i dont know if its just me or the ISP

I know a lot of people have had great experience with Dot. They use Comindico (infact I think they are just their retail arm or sumfin) and many I've heard many people tell of great pings/download speeds. I'd suggest you see if you can fix what sounds like are your problems or otherwise inform them that they have a possible fault. So many other's seem to have the best possible service with them. Still got a while to go until I might leave Optus - it's paid for this month so I'm not going anywhere for 4 weeks. The reason that I didn't sign up with Dot, 6 or maybe 9 months ago was because they didn't do Direct Debit and as I don't have a credit card I couldn't sign up.
