Anyone have any old Sega master system or Megadrive carts?

how much i have about 9+ games and the console

man i have this huge pile of master system cartridges
and the console
and four hand sets :P

unfortunately big mob of ants got into em
so i got no idea if they work anymore

use some isopropyl alchohol to clean up the cartridge, just make sure you let it dry properly before testing :P - they should be fine as long as the ants didn't get overly hungry :)

I have a functioning Mega Drive 2 with Master System converter and about 7 Mega Drive games. If anyone wants to sell me any let me know if they are in good condition and with case and manual.

o i would love to have a sega master system again just to play alex the kid i loved that game when i was smaller and i was never good enough to finnish the game :(

I agree. I used to own a Master System 2 with Alex the Kid and never finished it. My dad sold the uint and games to get a 286. I tried to get one recently but it died after 2 weeks.

ROFL........... Shit I can remember when I bought my Sega Master System back in 1989. Mum said that I couldn't have it, So I went straight out and bought it. Then I played it all afternoon before she came home so I couldn't take it back to toyworld. :) :lol: The absolute best $350 I ever spent. I hated Alex the kid cause it was so easy to clock. My favorite was Wonderboy in Monsterland. I played that game so wuch that the pins got worn out and it wouldn't play any more. :lol: AHHHhhh....The memories.....It's all coming back to me now.......I can even hear the music.... :mrgreen:

Unfortunately the closest I got to a console was when I went to a friends place. Until '92 it was Amstrad all the way then came the PC.. go the CPC-464!

still got me NES and SNES....my Master System and Mega Drive died all too long ago :(....sigh and i miss my atari :cry:

I just aquired Double Dragon and Wonderboy 3. I will be upgrading my old p MMX233 in the next week or so to a Celeron 600 and will probably go to the next LAN. I also keep ROMs on my PC of all the carts I own. The only other system I liked besides the master sytem and megadrive was the Amiga 500.

My fingers got cramped every now and then from playing dos games on my old 286 and 486. Primarly from games by Apogee such as Secret Agent, Monster Bash and Commander Keen and so forth. A friend of mine had an Amstrad 386 25mz with a Megadrive intergated inside it! Oh those old 2d scrollers just a pixel short...!

Yep Wonderboy in Monster Land (Wonderboy II??) that was my fav game.
Played it after school, played it on weekends, played it on holidays..etc...etc.... :lol:

R-Type was a good game, great for reflexes....DIE-DIE alien skum :)

I used to spend all my dosh at the arcade on computer games, then I would just hang around and watch all the other people play games....It all started when my dad bought this Atari when they were new (remember the woodgrain one) and got Pong, Space Invaders and Asteriods.

Since that fateful day I have had an insane addiction to Computer Games. Don't know about all of you but when I am playing I don't hear anyone talking to me, not hungry, don't need to piss, don't need to eat, don't need to sleep........100% concentration......Block out everything else, cause it isn't inportant.....MUST PLAY.......MUST GET BETTER SCORE....MUST GET MORE FRAGS.......MUST PLAY MORE.. :D

I'm not adicted....really i'm not.....I could stop if I wanted to.....fine I will stop.......(2 hours later)NOOOOOooooooooo.....Must play, must satisfy the cravings........AHHHhhhhh happy now.......

8) OK! my system is now ready to go as the CPU my stepdad gave me died! So I got hold of a 660mz Celeron which should run just about anything provided I get a new AGP 3d card to replace the Voodoo 2. I am still intrested if anyone has or can get any roms.

:twisted: I would have replied earlier but the YR12 co-ordintaor decided to punish all of year 12 and log us all of the net!

how dare you mention the amiga 500 in the same breath as a .. a .. console system!

the amiga was so much more!

i liked and still like most console systems :) except the 3DO...which was just blah~!

and the XBOX...i don't think that this console will last very long..
but that's just me ;)

anyways, i don't have any old sega games i can sell you soz :( would be good if i still owned the damn consoles...*sigh*

Unfortunatly I was only in primary school when I had the Amiga 500 and could only run the games on it. It had no HDD and I couldn't figure out how to use the work programs as little documentation was provided, just a huge collection of games that came with it. But it's GUI was more advanced for it's time compared to the PC or MAC. Just insert a disk and it would run or bring up the OS with an icon that would start the program. No Boot Disks, No Command lines (Like DOS or the Commodore 64) just plain simplicity. It was using a TV as the screen and was sharing it with my Master System thru the RF switch. The next door neigbours had PCs but also had 2 Atari Lynxes and an old Atari console with the wood style panleing (Don't know which model).

Amiga did have a CLI actually, was pretty useful. Toward the end of my amigas life i spent a fair bit of time hacking around workbench, (i actually spock's rendition of 'space, a final frontier...' as my workbench startup sound). but mostly its games just rocked. the graphics on that machine were completely unparalleled.

ah the good old times when sega was on top of the console world instead of selling out and puting there number 1 star , sonic, on the game cube (now isnt that ironic?)

we did have a master system, dont know where it is now think dad sold it to help buy the maega drive, which he intern sold to help buy the ps1 which i intend to sell to help me buy a ps2. (my god its upgrade central)

Anyone here got Sonic & Knuckles, the one with the slot built into the top of it for another cartridge? What the heck goes in there???

:( I don't have a copy for Mega Drive but I do have the PC version

:D I do know that it was designed so Sonic 3 could be inserted so you could play a combined copy and save your game and play the entire combined game as either sonic, tails, sonic and tails or knuckles.

Also Sonic can be pluged in but without saves apparantly as well as any other cart can be plugged in to generate random secret levels.

Many emulation sites or museums have info regarding this.

Matre go to Cash Converters. Star Money Lenders, Cash Advantage and the game store in Casurina. They all have old Mega Drive Games going real cheap.

Been to Cashies in Palmo and they are almost out of stuff, might try Cash advantage or Cashies at Coconut Grove if I can get out there but the shop in Casurina last time I went there didn't have any.

I can tell you Cash Converters in Coconut Grove has a large selection (but not that good a selection). Cash Advantage in Nightcliff has some good games too not many though. The games stores at Casurina also have mega drive games too. Esp that one that has just expanded.

Can't find any good MD games as if any of the stores have any they are only Sports games or a few Mega CD games. (Damn I don't have a Mega CD or 32X) and my PC is out of comission again!)

We have a ps2 Xbox Mega Drive in the house and we had a ps1 but got rid of it...
