I went to the source http://www.pauls.com.au Sent them an email which stated:
Questions / Comments: To solve an age old argument, does your pauls iced > coffee contain caffeine? > Not breaka or ice break just the basic pauls iced coffee.
and the response I got is
Pauls Iced Coffee contains 13mg of caffeine per 100mls.

I got to say that Iced Coffee in Darwin is just this thing.. that Darwin people do.. it was kind of weird when I moved here how popular it was. But hey I love the stuff!
OMFG I can't believe ANYONE drinks Paul's Iced Coffee .... B L E H ... try some Farmers Union Iced Coffee and you would never drink that rancid UHT tasting NT crap again :D
Yeah Pepsi before Coke but more often than not I'm drinking Coke cause that's what I happen to pickup or see first :) That is when I'm drinking soft drink.

As long as none of you drink the diet versions. It contains aspartine which actually can kill you, slowly. We found out cos theres a guy who used to be at work who drinks a litre of it a day, easily.

No he left didnt die. the doctor told him to stop drinking so much. 1 L a day isnt much, just three cans per day. I know people who drink more.
BTW I am about to go out and run a shop again and last time I was there I wouldnt buy pepsi. It would sit there for ages. I would get rid of 20 cases of coke to every one of pepsi and that normally was when the fridges werent restacked.
Seriously some of the drinking and eating habits down here are so screwed. I mean what's the thing with people buying Ice cream which is so popular, especially when we're all freezing our butts off wearing thick-ass jackets.
Hey mate not to put you off but I have the overhead fans going and are sitting here ina set of shorts. nothing else. I call home (melb) every no and then (actually my folks call me all the time) and complain how cold it is.
Yes aspartane when broken down contains methanol and a few other nasties.. which it would be good if i rememberd right now.. basically it's a carcinogen. But how much farkin aspartane is in a can of coke? Not enough to make a difference I'd say. I drink diet versions as well as the normal ones.
bah, you get fat off pauls AND farmers union, drink FEELGOOD milk, 99.5% fat free, good shit. The iced coffee anit great cause no sugar means coffee taste, but teh chocolate is the shizat
Why would we want to drink teh chocolate shizat you crazy man?
Anyway Big M used to be my fav choco drink.. but I think I heard they changed the name? Rush is great but it's pretty rich which is not good if you're feeling sick. Anyways.. Mmmmmmmmm....
sif Red Bull.. Black Stallion or [V] :) I'll drink just about any energy drink though.. But that sprite shit is disgusting.. still drink it but it's crap.
Ok Spero i bow down before thee in public next time we meet
But ask ure contact at Pauls why they can sell a product that contains caffeine but not label it as such. Simply putting "contains coffee" is not a very good package presentation of a potentially ill health causing substance (allergy) Even Coke and Pepsi have to label thier containers with "contains caffeine" and simply "contains coke/pepsi essence". Other manufacturers and labeling conventions state that any substance that can or does react with the human body (stimulant, suppresent etc).
Either way ill admit in this case i was wrong :) Well played fair maiden Till next time we lock horns in mortal combat
Ohhhhhh no....i've got one for you....have a litre of chocolate milk and two red bulls!!! Then see how hyper you get....that much sugar and caffine...just ask scypher how crazy he was...but it was damn funny. He had crazy cs skills also...so it must be good. :)
P.s EOS ya didnt have to go all public apology. I was trying to keep your identity a secret whilst letting the people who knew we were having huge arguments(nice ones :P) about it.
I guess that makes you a stronger person then most of us :)
SperO, you just weren't looking in *quite* the right place.
Quote: 1 Interpretation In this Standard -
caffeine means all caffeine present from whatever source in a formulated caffeinated beverage.
formulated caffeinated beverage means a non-alcoholic water-based flavoured beverage which contains caffeine and may contain carbohydrates, amino acids, vitamins and other substances, including other foods, for the purpose of enhancing mental performance.
one day quantity in relation to formulated caffeinated beverage, means the maximum amount of that food that should be consumed in one day in accordance with the directions specified in the label.
the above is from http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/foodstandardscode/standard264.cfm there :P
this http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/foodstandardscode/standard12/standard123.cfm link also helps
far as I can see, consumer affairs only requires you to advise of the presence of caffiene in cola or water based drinks with added caffiene. Milk based drinks simply aren't mentioned...
