News: Winamp3 Release & Others

Winamp 3 has now been fully released it is available for download at the Winamp site so go and download it now if you haven't already.

Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast 1.04
Since the release of 1.03 online gaming for JKII has that bit more tolerable of course you are going to get the occasional try-hards who still find a way to use the occasional backstab but it's seriously better now. It has also seem to cut down the player base by a huge majority, of which now that cut player base seem to all be playing on 1.03 servers. Funny isn't that.

Anyway dust off your copy of JKII and give 1.04 a whirl online. Patch here.

Tribes 2
Seems that barely anyone plays Tribes 2 online these days. Of course there's a new patch out again which seems have balanced a few things out of course though there's probably still the mortar spammers. Although proper clan wars in Tribes 2 is pretty different story. Here's another game to dust off if you're looking for a nice variation from Counter-Strike evil. Of course vehicles rule, CTs drool. Then again you could just plain play like Dan. Patches here thanks to Ausgamers

Video Ezy Ex-Rental Sale
I'm not sure about the current state of Darwin Video Ezy (or if it's still there for that matter) but around Melbourne I've attended the local Video Ezy's Ex-Rental Sale. There was quite a few copies of lots of quality games going for very cheap. I saw Warcraft 3 going for about $40, Morrowind: Elder Scrolls 3 for $25, Operation: Flashpoint for $20, Jedi Knight II collector's going for $20, and C&C: Renegade for "6, although there are many others. Myself I picked up a copy of 'Devil may cry' and I'm loving it, there was a mad rush on the opening of the shop so if you haven't already been and planning to go see what they have now, don't be disappointed if you're left with the scraps. There's also a whole boatload of very new DVDs and Videos, too bad LoTR came out a little late.

nVidia DetonatorXP 30.82
They have been released and I'm sure they have some sort of stability and super performance increase again in these driver updates. Check them out here. If there's anymore nVidia bashing I'm going to call the wrath of the gods upon you (you all know who you are).

Again if anyone hasn't tried it yet. Try out the Lavasoft Ad-Aware. Crunch the spyware.

I love the gimmicks and the opacity and all. But it ain't the same Winamp. I'm already back to winamp 2.8

Oh and the vast selection of 2 custom skins..

I also Dled it and tried it for Ummm half a hour.. then Uninstalled it..

agreed, still running Winamp 2.80 on my system, come to think of it, some of my favorite programs are the older version, ACDC 2.41 is the best aslwell :)

im still running 3 i rather use there video player then microsofts besides having all my music vids and mp3's in 1 play list rules and i hate microsoft media player its gay :D

but maybe it lags on your machines is probably why yous aint using it ? :D

or maybe they just don't like it

I just checked and Iam still back in the days of 2.76.

Anyone else been giving Tribes 2 a go lately? I haven't had a chance to install mine but what's the latest version of Tribes2 up to now?

Also anyone had a read of Dan's data Tribes 2 bastard guide?

When I was playing Tribes 2 for Rogue Disciples.. My favourite role was " base Raper "

Dans bastards guide pretty much sums up my game plan for a map..

For the ppl who dont play the game, my primary role was sabateur. I used to disable/destroy their base from the inside.

So I either had a hidden inv and a rocket launcher in Assault armour taking out fixtures and vehicles..

Or I had light armour and a cloak pack mining Invs, gen shootin..

Edit: Oh Korny.. Nothing lags on my machine :) Winamp 3 is ghey..

But winamp 3 has alpha channel transparencies! *droooooools*

2.78 winamp with VID4WA plug-in, plays everything that Windows Media PLayer plays as well as .divx files and some others ;) tried w3 and it was just terrible...

why don't you post about ATi drivers as well Jay? just curious because the Catalyst 02.2 drivers for ATi cards were released about the same time the new Det's were.

and yes i do read the news ;) only problem is navigating from that page to the forums...for some reason the graphics at the top of the page don't seem to appear very often...so i can't see buttons etc :(

hmm Seqo what browser and version are you using, I'll take that problem up with rec If I get some more details.

Ahh that's about that note about the ATi drivers, originally I didn't post them up as I don't usually run them myself. Will post some more driver/software updatage fairly soon.

nothing wrong with blink-182 they are great live and have pretty kewl music vids.
