Only current mod is a Unichip .... currently 200kw at the flywheel - 124rwkw. Went out cruising with the local R33 Turbo Skyline lads last Saturday night and showed them all up :D

Post 2

Enough money for new car .. But where were u last EVO ?????

Post 3

Bastard, I cant believe you got one, how bot flying me down for a spin huh???

Post 5

Sif beat R33 Skyline, Mine would kick ur ass

What year is it, the link was down
How much ya get if for (if u dont mind me asking) ?

Post 6

link not working

Post 7

unspoken you have an r33 skyline?

Post 8

it was probs a GTS or EC R33 :)

thats a very yummy car *grins*

im guessing its the spec R? btw, if it is the spec r, u shoulda gone for the new GT spec :). still, very awesome car night

Post 9

Very nice S15. ^_~ I'm still beginning to wish I got me one of them. ~_~ Congratulations!

Post 10

Unspoken sif your r33 would beat it, you would not stand a chance until you got over 200kph, sif your 6 cylinders would beat a turbo 4 :)

Post 11

good on ya mate. nice car. but a S13 is better.
and i think your bullshiting about being able to beat a GTR. FULL OF SHIT!!

Post 12

Mudman, Andy didn't say he beat a GTR though. ^O^ Just Skylines. I don't doubt it though. In comparison, the Skyline is a far weightier car, though the sylvia's have an inherant problem with them... It's called lack of traction. ^O^ DORIFUTO!

Post 13

Quote from Hitokiri Kensuke:

LOL! ;)

very nice car all the same, as long as the owner is happy with it hehe :)

Post 14

Yeah, doggy japan imported cars, with there limited to 180kms and all

Hey Reaper, iam an 18 yr old full time tafe student sif i could afford anything more than a stocko car, and this skyline was a way better buy than any commodore or ford !!!
And skyline's have more potential :D

And ...there are to many commodore and fords out there, mostly Vl's ! so...

Post 15

How the f*ck did you affort a Nissan Skyline if your 18 and doing tafe?
Rich parents eh? ;)

Sexy Car NightCrawler :D

Post 16

Nah Neo, worked my tities off at Maccas and Big W through highschool,

And also being a tightass at times helped as well :D

Post 17

unspoken, GTR or GT-S/T/t R33????

Post 18

R33 GTS, No way could i afford to get R33 GTR :D

I'll keep this one until i get a full time job in the IT industry then work on gettin GTR :)

Post 19

got a Pic?

:) would be good to see it.

Post 20

Yeah, the GTR's are pretty nice. ^_~ But I'd still prefer a GTS-T Or GTT with a 6'er in the floor, and RB26DETT under the bonnet.

Post 21

nice car andrew, wouldlove to go for a cruise in it :) BUT ... i hear little red cars go faster .. muhahaha

tn1- broooom..

Post 22

so what is the general census here.
so far i have gathered the GTR's rule. wich is true.

but in my opinion R32's are better than R33's.
and Kagetsu, silvias dont really have a prob with traction. whered you pull that from? and if you do have a prob with traction.....get bigger tires.simple.

but straight up NISSANS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and most holdens and most fords just straight out suck.
specially the new manaro, they look like family cars. thats just silly.

Ture that :D Good one Tn1..hehehe.

GTR & the new 200SX is good but at least I can fit five people comfortably with out having to drop the front seat & still kane at the lights hehehe.
All wheel drive helps too when you want to keep your foot planted around corners. Just look at the stats on which cars are used mostly for snatch & grab getaway cars. Ask the Sydney folks which cars stolen the most, oh look not even the criminals used 200SX or GTR's
Sure unspoken but did you buy it brand-new.?
When I got my first car (WRX Limited Ed - R) it was brand new less than 8km on the OD whooohoo :D . Soon as I drove it out of the show room I toke it straight to the race track then boom :D red-line to next red-line ohyeah bring it on :D even fifth gear was pulling :o :D

After clocking 5000Km I was able to push it up 255kms no problems woot woot :D Sweet :D Nothing wrong with my Japanese computer chip it wants to give more but due to our crappy fuel it flattens out  where's my 100ron at the fuel stations?. But another thing I hate is turbo lag it's a bitch like CS lag.

Every one has different tastes on cars for different reasons & that's 8)
as long as they are happy in what they buy. So enjoy :D keep on driving & stay safe. :D

How come then steve that the Sylvias are the #2 most popular car with the illegal drift scene in Japan.? Cause they are still good cars.

Hey StarScream, a little birdy once told me engines should be worked in a little before you start Redlining and pushing to the max. Somehow I don't think those 8km really counts ;) But ohwell, your car, your engine, your money.

Neo! Most subi's engines are already worked in on the factory floor, load testing & full rmp. I rather find out something is broken earlier than leaving it to lingering on months later. If it brakes the second day you can take it back to the dealer & you can say it's a lemon, but if it broke down a few months later the dealer will be reluctant to replace it & point the finger at you for not taking care of the car. E.g. (you been riding the clutch, crunching the gears, strapping it out everyday, using it off road, hitting gutters & so on)
They will look at anyway possible in not getting you car repaired under factory warranty. I remember when I wasn't aloud to replace my rims cuz it would void my warranty, I had to wait till next year when the new subi's came out with 16" then & only I was aloud to replace my rims to any 16". They finally fixed that problem cuz allot of angry owners wrote to subi.

Note : Some engines are full factory load tested & some are not.
But it would be wise to check before red-lining it on the first day.
Thanks for the good point Neo.

Post 27

Starscream, most (I think all) later model nissan skyline's are FULLY imported, which means they already have k's on the clock! i bough mine at 60000, but in saying that NO one had ever been in the back seat, by the look of it anyway.

You have a WRX limeted ed, what MY ?
How old are you ?

Post 28

Oh and SILVIAS SUCK ahahah BUY ANOTHER TYPE OF NISSAN

Sorry but i dont like the silvias that much, they are nothing special.
There are some really nice ones out there i have to admit, but everyone has got one!!!!! well not really but there are alot out there, if you dun have a vl commodore most likely u have a silvia :)

Post 29

silvia's rock damn you! even more if you have K's *grins*. silvia's are a good alternative if you like rice burners but cant afford the upper class 200sx's, wrx's etc. or if you cant quite aoffrd importing a GTS or something, 180's rule as well :)

I was actually refering to the Steve McQueen movie Bullet, but yes the GT in Gone In 60 Seconds is one fine car too.

Post 33

Ok, ok let me clear up a few things:

- Clackers - work was the issue with Evo dude and availability of flights .... :( next dry for sure!

- Lee ... no - pay for your own flight ;)

- Unspoken .... I can give you the phone numbers of my mates that have R33s and I beat them .... and yes they all have some work done and are at least 150kw @ the wheels (standard R33 is 118kw @ the wheels)

.... Going on - mine is
200SX 124kw @ the wheels at 1,240kg
vs.
R33 GTS25t 118kw @ the wheels at 1,460kg
.... you do the math smart boy :D

- Cow .... rest assured they were all GTS25t's .... sif I would cruise with n/a's lol

- Steve you are 100% correct .... I have not yet had a drag start where I could keep the rear wheels in a straight line .... and in the wet last Saturday night it was solid wheelspin in 1st and 2nd until I backed off enough to get some traction.

- Starscream .... WRXs are used as smash and grab cars cos
1. they are like assholes - everyone has got one .... and
2. they are so damn easy to steal!
AND fyi 200SXs have similar rwkw and are similar weight but have a fantastic 6 speed gearbox which gives it a nice edge over Rex's .... I have not had a Rex beat me yet (only dragged 2 so far)

- Mudman - I never said I could beat a GTR .... in fact I dragged a couple of R33 GTRs and Saturday night dragged a mate's R34 GTR V-Spec (the only one in Adelaide) and as expected they absolutely kicked my ass ....

- mine is a Spec S with side skirts (don't like the spoiler and the sunroof is too low it hits my head) and I picked it up for only $36,000 with 3,200km on the clock .... with factory tint, 3 point alarm, side skirts and sexy 200SX mats. This car cost the guy a bit over $46,500 (9 months ago) new incl delivery and all the extras so I think I got a bargain for an essentially brand new car.

- Silvias (especially the S15 like mine) are THE drift cars .... as mentioned no lag whatsoever they are truly incredible you can't feel the turbo come on at all .... you just need to remember not to get the revs above 3,000prm until you are in a straight line in any gear cos it grabs then pulls very hard and results in (as Steve put it so well) Dorifto. Watch ANY import car video from Japan and you'll find at least 1/2 of Jap drift cars are Silvias

- Unspoken .... er I agree in part with the 'everybody has got a Silvia' comment but I think you should remember that my 200SX is of course an S15 Silvia .... and you are referring to S13's when you make that comment!

Anyways like some of you said it is all up to pesonal preference, however some of you should read the article on Performance Car of The Year 2001 to get the real story on this fantastic car .... and be sure to read .... Fastlane atricle Nissan 200SX is the first non-European car to ever win the award!

Hope I cleared up everyone's questions.

/end rant :D

Unspoken, you are sort of right and sort of wrong.
Yes everyone (by this we mean everyone "want to be") has a commodore, but dont forget the everyone else and their dog who has a gumbie subaru WRX. :x

Im sick of seeing spass ass gumbies with their commodores and WRX's. They all think they are shit hot, but pretty much a large majority would not know the 1st thing about how to drive a car. They think oww i can go fast off the line at the light change so i must be a good driver.
Bleh!!

Post 35

Yeah i was referring to the S13 Nightcrawler, I was just able to see your 200sx throught your web site, VERY nice!!!!!

I was just joking about skyline's beating it...cause i have one :o
Iam unable to afford a turbo skyline, being full time student, and having to drive 80ks average a day(In traffic near brisbane city! waste of fuel!), but hopefully after getting my diploma i may be able to afford one!

R34 GTR V-spec, is that what your friend has?! that's a nice car as well!
Most ppl prefer the r32's but i like r33 but nothing beats and R34!!

Magnus, i kinda forgot about the Subaru's but they are every where as well!

Post 36

I agree with magus nexx. All those poofs would proberbly lose it in a real race. As in a race with corners =)

Post 37

/me looks at starscream, I know someone that will be taking me for a drive in their car ;)

Post 38

ooooohhhh

your in aelaide, was goin to ask u if you wanted to drag a S13. :D

but hey your right wrx's suck, nissans rule (if u doubt my alegence check my av and sig 2 things that have to do with nissan there)

but still good on ya mate made a good choice of car

Post 39

For those who love GTRs check out my mate's GTRs ....

The R33 GTR Vspec is 600rwkw (not a typo) that does a 10.6sec 1/4 mile .... the motor alone owes him over "00,000.

The R34 GTR VSpec is almost standard except for modified intake and Nizmo exhaust and it ran a 12.1sec 1/4 mile the other week at AIR.

GTRs

For some other pics and stuff check out Stuff

And yes, I have come across a couple of S13's and belted them rather convincingly :D

Post 40

Thats one nice look'n, and umm.... powerful GTR :D

[Image: http://www.angelfire.com/me/andnus/images/r34gtrvspec.jpg]

Post 41

They are the two of the sweetest skyline's i've ever seen :P

Post 42

I reckon let me finish bedding in the new gear pairs in my gear box and get a tune up and I will give ya's all a go :P

see pic here
this is not mine but is same colour scheme, year and make.

ohhh drift yeah I can get some drift unfortunately had a little bingle the other weekend drifting it on a right hander (I like to blame oil) luckily just minor damage.

btw cost me around the $5500 mark so alot cheaper than the above mentioned vehicles but I reckon a much bigger rush :)

Now with the gear box fixed next step is service then respray then the full racing exhaust and you will hear me going to work even up there in darwin :)

for anyone still interested getting rid of the red in the paint work and going all black and silver with this racing exhaust as part of the system also.

I could post specs I suppose but cant be assed will do if ya's want though lets just say it is more power to weight ratios with thing more so than anything else :)

Post 43

How much were they asking for that red R34 Nightcrawler ???
what was wrong with it ?

Post 44

yah not all s13 are good but this one has a 1/4 mile time of about 12.5 to 13 prob closer to 13 but its still a sweet ride. and no offence to ya but i think s13 are the best looking silvias.

Post 45

Quote:

I pulled it from the fact that since people started drifting the S12's nissan sort of said, 'hey, that looks like the shit!' so they designed the Sylvia range for it. ^_~ Regardless of how you look at it, when you've driven one, you'll understand why these cars were made the way they were. Large over hangs on the rear and lightened stiff rear suspension makes this car slide quite redily, and accurately. These cars to put it bluntly are the moder day drift machine. Like it's already been said, you just need to take a short look at the drift scene in Japan to understand why it's such a good car.
Another good point is to look at Highoctane 2. If you haven't watched it already, they pit out 6 or so sylvias with varying degrees of power between standard and 400HP. Ironically the least powerful car pulled the best time, and the most powerful pulled the slowest time.

I don't think I said anything to deny it or say anything against it. ^_^'

That's a good one there! They wanted me to pay 42K for a Spec R one with 11K on the clock only five months ago. ~_~

I remember taking it for a drive, as awesome as the car was, I too couldn't fit inside. Either my head was wedged sideways against the roof, or my knees were squashed into the steering wheel. ~_~ If I'd taken out the spec S, or even known the differences, I probably'd be driving around a spec S right now. ^O^ Oh, and I have to agree on the spoilers... I don't like them at all. If the stop light on the GT spoiler wasn't triangular, it'd be okay, but yeah. ^_^ Well done again...

I love you car. ~_~

Post 46

Yeah Cream, a bike would be cool but the potential death factor is waaaay too high for my liking - I have had so many mates write themselves off on bikes it is not even funny!

Yes, an S13 that does a 13sec 1/4 mile would kick my ass ... my S15 would only do low 14's in its current form. Will get it on the track in the next month for some ETs to post.

Thanks for the compliments Steve .... yes, you should drive a Spec S as you would fit no problem.

Anyone interested check out a nice pic I took yesterday Here

Post 47

Yeah, had a seat in a friend of mines type S. Very nice fit indeed. Still I can't complain about what I'm driving now though. ^O^'

Wanted to look at the photo, but it's hosted on Angel Fire, damn firewalls. ^O^

Post 48

Oh yeah baby, those are some sweet ass GTR's

Well due to the fact my time in the military is coming to an end if it does the following shall occur.

I shall be paid out by the military and put on a pension

If the payout is enough I will sell my motorbike and purchase the following r33 GTS-T

Post 50

Thanks for that handy link Lee.

fyi I am good friends with the gang at Adelaide Jap (in fact I do their computers) .... so if you are looking at getting a Skyline from them give me a yell Lee and I will get a better price for you .... or drop my name (say I'm from AJ Computers) to Chris or Bob (the boss) and they will look after you!

They are usually a bit expensive, but that R33 for $22,000 ish with only 46K kms on the clock looks like a sweet deal! .... the R33 GTR would be better - I had a good look @ that car just last week in fact .... mmmmmmm *drool* but it would be the best $55,000 ever spent - in fact I nearly bought it instead of my S15 .... nearly. But mine performs damn close to it, has 3 years warranty, 18,000km less on the clock and have no insurance/finance issue associated with a grey-import car.

If you want me to take that 33 for a spin for you and tell you how it drives just sing out Lee and I will go down there, have a drive and take a heap of digital pics for you! (Adelaide Jap is literally about 4km from my house!).

Post 51

reaper can i make a suggestion, if you havent done it already, check out carpoint @ ninemsn.com, check Nissan's then Skyline. ive been looking at that site over the last few weeks, and have seen some pretty cheap R33 GTS', around the 60000 KM's mark turbo versions. have a look there, they have plenty of skylines.

yeah they can be alittle dangerous but shit they are fun :P
I got a few mates who have had the odd skin graft none dead yet thank god.
I have been lucky and only had a graze or two.

Cars are great in winter when wet and cold but what better way to head down the beach in summer than on a bike :P

easy parking is a plus also :)

Whats wrong with the public bus.
Get to meet interesting people, cheaper than a car, get to see the scenery, no chance of speeding tickets, and no one gets in your way.
Great way to travel.
Oh and 0-100kph in 3 days therefore you cant get whiplash.

Cow, nah the photos were taken in John's garage the other week when I was over there .... he is a mate of mine. Yes his 34 (which I went on a cruise with Saturday afternoon with and wil post some pics/videos of shortly) and the crazy 33 were on the cover of HPI recently. They are 2 very sick cars!

We are having another dyno day on the 12th October with the South Australian LS1 boys (5.7L GenIII V8 club) and John is likely to have the R34 there .... I will get many photos and videos for eveyones enjoyment :D .... including my car on the dyno.

The R34 is every bit as sweet to ride in as it looks .... the G-forces are simply amazing .... needless to say it scares the shit out of me every time I get in it :)

Yes Lee, all Skylines and indeed Silvias/200SXs have blow-off valves, but they are plastic and blow back into the exhaust system so you can't hear them. Because they are plastic they leak when you boost over 10psi (mine is leaking a tad atm) .... but you get a nice Blitz or similar blow-off valve for around the $300 mark .... in fact it's next on my shopping list.
