Anyone seen Sly Fox?

Hey guys I'm just wondering if Sly has gone on holidays or somethign like that. I notice that he hasn't posted for about 20 days or so. I just need to get in contact with him wheneverish.

I think maybe he went into hiding because rainwulf was coming, and he doesn't know that he's left :P

Think I did see a post about him departing on holidays somewhere .... sorry can't remember where :(

While talking with NightCrawler today we discussed the same thing. Both me and and NyT are going up for Evo, and wanted to get in contact with Sly. NyT hasn't heard from him in weeks, doesn't answer his phone, no response on ICQ etc.

He's either dead, on holiday, or in a mid-life crisis of some sort.

I was going to get his mobile number but I guess that'll be useless.

I bought a wireless card off of him 7 months ago but we somehow lost contact (probably my fault).. and err.. while I trust the bloke (no issues there.. I've always thought he's a good bloke because of his involvement in GU) it's 7 months now :( It's never actually been as if I needed the gear urgently (if it was then I'd be really pissed of course) but now a mate of mine wants to start things up and I think we have a reasonable chance as far as LOS, etc goes. I don't really want to go out and buy another card when there's one I paid for floating about in Sly's world somewhere.

Anyway.. heh.

That's probably just because he hasn't been around at all so no point keeping a mod who hasn't been around for 5 months now

yep i noticed that, which is what kinda prompted me to resurrect the thread...

i mean - we all know that he got a new job... but that wouldn't have caused him to disappear for five months..

then there's the no internet - which doesn't explain him not picking up the phone... etc

if he was on holidays - that's a F*****G long holiday... and you kinda think he might have said something...

that leaves a few options left....

1. he moved house - changed phone no etc etc.
2. something bad... don't won't to think about it but it is an option...

i'm inclined to believe it is the second of these options.... :cry:

possible bad news on the Simon front :( .... I decided to chase around a bit to find him and the results were thus:

1. spoke with Troy, the dude he was buying wireless stuff through, and he hasn't heard from Simon for some months - Simon had ordered stuff from him and then never collected or contacted again. Troy agreed this is VERY out of character. Last Troy knew Simon was quite sick (flu or something) .... hmmmm

2. took it upon myself to ring all the Athertons that live in the Northern suburbs .... none had ever heard of a Simon .... (bar 2 engaged numbers I have to ring back)

So I'm not sure if we can draw any conclusions from this but I will keep chasing .... does anyone know the name of the new place he started working at? .... I neve asked him the name of it ....

I spoke to him Xmas time

Had a chat, he started a new job

His mobile is still connected but never on.

He also had scrapped his dsl and was getting IDSN at the time.

I know he was a bit 'burnt' out.

Lets hope thats the only thing thats wrong :(

I have returned..

But I have returned..

In short I left my old work, and started working for myself.. I normally work a 12 hour day ( $$$ )..

On the 10th of Dec I had ISDN installed. So that and adsl arent compatable, so I had to disconnect the dsl..

All I had to do was get my ISDN DOV server back off a mate ( I gave my 56Ghey modem away last year ( damn fool I was ))..

Well with all the BS that I was going thru with some members of this community at the time, I wasnt in any real hurry to get connected..

Sorry to my friends here, but my BS valve popped..

Now to those I owe a apology to..

Neo: Monitor goes up to U at the end of the week, beginning of next ( IOW as soon as I can ), obviously at my expense ( its the least I can do to say sorry for such a unforgivable delay ).

Imi: Yes giving me your address would have made sending you your wireless gear a lot easier. What I will do is slip it into Neo's Monitor box and the 2 of you can work it out from there. Also saves owing any shipping costs :D

Meph, your mobo came back end of last year with a fat No Fault Found. Yes U do owe me some funds, we can work it out later..
