Yep from what I've seen so far which is SFA it's no more than a Ti 4200 with AGP 8x really.. there was a review over at Anand's.. or a preview or something from Comdex.. but they said something different.. that was a few months back though. Nothing to get excited over.
from what I know those new cards mentioned are nothing much but a Ti4400 and Ti4600 with 8x AGP
AND F*&k do those cards look hugh aswell as having the Yen sing on it for the price
lol they're getting to be as big as the very old cards did when they had the 8bit with and extra agp at the end (they were like the size of a mobo)
AND
Unless my eyes decieve me but the pic of the card (the second pic) looks like the normal TI4600 4xAGP
The 4200, 4400 and 4600 have been replaced with the recently re-jigged 4200 8X, 4800 SE and 4800. The are virtually the same thing with 8X AGP, but the exciting thing is the clock speeds of both the ram and gpu have gone way up and the new 4200 is now faster than the old 4600, so what would the 4800 be like? I know the new 4200 is faster than the 9500 Pro except for AA and AF, but there is little difference.
The new 4200 and 4800 will be good budget people, but I'm waiting for the FX personally, DDR2 and FP precision and 25% better performance over the 9700 Pro is worth the wait.
shrug and its something to give a fuck over?
i got a 9700 pro it runs fucking sweet, rainwulf can vouch for this. I mean its bound to happen that new cards will surpass old cards etc, like really who gives a flying fuck about it... unless your some sad arse looking for a flame over who's chipset is better than the others.
Granted fx will be more powerful, but in that reasoning, the 9700 pro will go down maybe, and more people may be inclined to buy it, cheaper and is very comparable to the newer cards, i mean it may perform the same as a 4600 at the lower res's but it has the power required to be a good performer when the newer games come out, blah im flaming what am i saying anyway.. off topic a bit..
shrug, im happy that my system works,

hehe same here with a three and a half year old vid card
Althoguh having said that im eagerly awaiting the GeForce FX because its such a quantum leap in technology (ie: NVIDIA actually designed an entirely new chip ). Looks like the 3Dfx assimilation has begun :D
DAMN!!! if that price tag is correct 28,780 yen....thats only about $420ish.
not bad...
w00t yeh but it will inflate in price because we live in Aus :(
i should seriously get my jap friends to buy comp stuff over there for me :) probably save me a few hundred dollars a year.

It's only a higher clocked version with 8xAGP, why do you think it would look any different?
because the card in the second pic looks massive compared to the card in the third pic
Its the same card, just with the hs removed
