Hi peeps,
My bro is having some troubles with his puter pretty much since he installed his new 9500pro. His reformatted and all that stuff, i havent had a chance to look at it yet, but before i do does anyone know of any conflicts this card may have? or any sites which would be good to look at?
and yes i've tried googling "9500 pro conflicts" and other variations but came up short.
Any help would be much appreciated. 8)
Can we get some Specs on the machine. I dont know much about those cards :(..

he started having hdd write problems on the main 20gig partition...but then reformatted and it stopped. He just has problems with games loading but then at the splash screen crashing, thats why i think its a conflict. but as i said i haven't looked at it yet...

I didnt know but the 9500pro has power plug into it, and with the amount of things his got in his case for his dinky power supply cant handle it.
im not sure what his is either...but im guessing it wouldn't be higher than 300W if that. And with his 9500Pro, Audigy, Burner, Floppy and two hdd.... :shock: OUCH on the power. If anyone has a similar setup can you tell me your power supplies wattage?

errr you didnt plug the 9500 pro into your power supply? and tried to play games? :shock:

If its a 128 mb version, with a bit of fiddly work you can turn it into a 9700 pro :)
it was on overclockers, zzz, slashdot so it seems to be legit :P
Also the trouble could be if you have a VIA chipset. The VIA chipset and the 9000 series Radeons are an evil mix

ba? you mean and not plugged into the agp slot? (which would be pretty stupid)...but this card goes into the agp slot, but you also have to plug a molex plug into it because it need the extra juice a agp slot cant provide.
in relation to turning it into a 9700 :) hehe yeah i've seen that but i think he'd want to get his puter working before he did that.

Slaps Darklyte silly, did Minorci say that :roll: He said the power supply not the agp port.

what did he mean the other way around...card plugged in but the power supply plug NOT plugged into the card?
maybe because of my stupid english ways i read it as..

but yeh Darklyte - you have to have the molex connector connected and the card into the Agp port in order for it to draw enough power...
waht sort of things happen when you try playing a game or running an app that is reasonably GPU intensive?

but yeah its installed properly...all plugged in and stuff. Anyways when he does something which is using a fair few things...im guessing its drawing too much power and all the components which need power just go to sh!t. Normal usage ok...fire up any game...*bup boounnn* no go.
I'll check out my power supply theory with his puter tonight and get back to ya's :wink:

well it i guess it doesnt matter what connector its using...i think the problem is he has too many things using power. :lol:
It is a floppy, and i think it should run fine.. check your ram settings, card could be fuxored.. anything, but i doubt the psu.
Do you have a chipset on you mobo :roll: if so then your Radeon doesn't like it :lol:

it was what i thought....took out his hdd and the thing runs fine....
put the hdd in, it screws up. Take out the cdrom and it works fine. His just got too many things pulling power from the PSU. thanks for a the suggestions though peeps :)
