Hello - Iam after a CPU fan for an XP2100 - its main priority must be that its QUIET! - Iam not after mass cooling, or have any overclocking needs. All iam after is a nice quiet fan that will keep an XP2100 happy, without a jet engine in my room. Any suggestions, or anything that could point me in the right direction?
Get the Zalman Flower Cooler =D. I dunno about our wet season heat though. Sometimes you must live with the fact darwin is hot a put up with a jet engine cooler.
For the purposes that he's not overclocking, his CPU is fine running hot.
Provided his CPU is running within the temperature operating limit something like -5C to 75C (not exact figures but close to common microprocessors)
Going quiet - get something like the CoolerMaster HHC-L61, Zalman coolers, or get a decent cooler like a SLK-800 and use a quiet brand fan with it such as Panaflow or Papst.

Also check it up on the OCAU forums too - more varied opinons out there. CPUs don't have to be that cool.
I worry if my processor goes over 38c... I want this processor to last a long time... but then again I have a celeron... these babies can get overclocked till the fins are red hot and still go strong...
Yeah I know, I have a Smeleron 1300 and I started it up and sat in bios for about 20 seconds with my finger ontop of the chip. After that it got too hot. You boot any K7 processor without a HS for any length of time and it goes boom.
