Quote from SWG's main site:
"Star Wars Galaxies is now entering the final phase of development, and everyone at LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment is pleased with the game's progress since the beta test program was initiated. We've received a good deal of constructive feedback and many positive suggestions that, if executed, will genuinely enhance gameplay for the hundreds of thousands of players who comprise the community.
To deliver the best possible massively multiplayer experience and ensure stability and breadth of content, LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment will delay the game's April 15 launch. This will enable us to invest more time into the beta program, and to solicit additional feedback from the tremendous fan base Star Wars Galaxies has already developed.

"In addition, we will not open phase three of the beta program until we feel the game is ready for a wider audience, which we anticipate will be within the next few weeks. A new release date for Star Wars Galaxies will be announced shortly after the beginning of beta three.

"We are sincerely grateful to the Star Wars Galaxies community for their tremendous support. We respectfully ask for their continued understanding and patience during these final few months leading up to the launch of what we believe will be one of the best MMOs to date."

and i was so happy it was going to come out so soon

oh well i will wait for it to come out anyway casue this game is badass :D

Post 2

its coming out in summer around, aswell as KOTOR i want that so much, saw the enw trailer looks unreal

Post 3

but longer beta phase 3 :)

im praying that i get into that :P

Post 4

I'm glad they're pushing it back, I'm happy for them to take as long as it takes to create a better game. I'd rather wait an extra year and get a quality product than have them release it now and it remain lacking.

Nod... otherwise it'll be another Ashron's Call II... or, for you old school fools, another Wing Commander II...

Post 6

Yes the longer its in beta, the better it should be. Look at Blizzard, they usually dont need to release many patches for their games compared to other companies because they keep their games in beta longer and put more effort into getting it pretty much right the first time. At least Lucas Arts seems to be trrying to make this game good :)

what was wrong with wing commander 2? i loved that serries (except 4)

i think it's a good think they're delaying the release date. nothing worse then a rushed, bug ridden game.

Post 8

/me thinks of UO

oh the joy's i have had with the bugs in UO 8)

Yes, the main problem however was Asherons call 2 was a totally different style of play to Asherons Call, so no-one oldsk00l went to II. Asherons Call 1 hasnt dropped off much of its userbase.

Post 10

Actually, I was thinking more about how, instead of fixing the bug where monsters bugged up when they had to walk around items, they simply made it so the monsters could just walk straight through...

And about Wing Commander II, awesome awesome game... if you had the second release. Albiet, there wern't many copies of the first release, but there were so many bugs that Origin offered free replacements if you mailed off your disks... (twas what I did)... the buggy version was... BAD. So many bugs... so many. Assuming you could get it to run, of course.

What is Star Wars Galaxies? Sony have something to do with it so it will probably have some really annoying copy protection that will piss off those who actually buy the game.

When is the new CS (1.6?) coming?

When is the new D2 expansion coming?

Odysseys Skills

Specs: 10
Cars: 10

Games: 0 :P :P

just kidding dude.
Star Wars Galaxies is an MMO.. thing. anyway it's set in the star wars universe with all the races and worlds encountered etc. the hype is tremendous. sony is doing the online component... and from what i've heard it isn't going to be too bad... 'cept for those that don't buy the game ;)

1.6? bugger... i forgot about that lol. i don't know when they are going to release it. probably April or May :|

D2... don't like it :)

Post 13

if enought ppl get SWG we should make a clan or something.. jsut an idea

Post 14

There are so many Star Wars games out and coming out, I haven't come across one that I like yet. Hopefully some new games that are coming will actually have a good gameplay and not just eye candy *looks @ UT2K3* You want gameplay then play UT original.

Post 15

i think UT is better than quake, i got both UT's UT2003 is prety good, looks of cool ppl to go

Post 16

Getting off topic... but what sold UT2000 for me was the way bodies actually react with their environment. IE, you get shot, fall, hit a beam... your body acts like a real body! Since I suck at UT, I see this regularly. Never fails to amaze me.

Post 17

i like to bunny hop  its fun as, no one can stop me :D

Post 18

I like the guns in UT Original much better.

Post 19

they are practical the same

Post 20

Yes, but they are not fun and have a different 'feel' to them, not the nice Original UT feel a now plastic UT2K3 feel.

Quote from Odyssey:

Probably about the same time as TF2  Don't count on it being out any time soon :(

Hell even CS:CZ has been pushed back till "some time around September" which could translate to being September 2010.

Post 22

lol, every PCPP it has when games r coming out, you see CS:CZ going back each month, it says april this issue

Hey all -
I know some of you have been waiting for the contents of the premium package for Star Wars Galaxies to be announced, so here they are. Let us know what you think.

The first thing you need to know is that this Special Edition version of Star Wars Galaxies is going to be limited in quantity. We're only making about 75,000 of them, and then that's it. And nothing in the box will be available through any other channels, ever.

I also want to let you know that we fought pretty hard for this Special Edition because we wanted to commemorate the launch of the game with something cool. More importantly, we wanted to give the fans something related to the game. In many ways, the Special Edition is kind of our present to you (though, we're still charging for it...).

The Special Edition includes the full version of the game along with the following collection of exclusive items:

*Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided Concept Art Book. This includes nearly every piece of concept art ever done for the game, including a great deal of never-before-seen stuff (even a few pieces that were "rejected" for continuity reasons), preliminary sketches for the CGW cover, an intro by our Lead Artist Jake Rodgers, some cool continuity/game info, final model shots and screenshots, and comparisons to film stills. This book has been a labor of love for some of us, and I think it's going to be an excellent look at one aspect of the game's development.

*Collectible pewter figurine featuring a Zabrak female with a blaster rifle. This is one of the most detailed SW figures I've ever seen. It's based on an in-game character and in-game wearables.

*Sew-on patch featuring the logo for Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided. We hope to do patches for each installment of the game.

*Lapel pin featuring both Imperial and Rebel insignias as well as Star Wars Galaxies logo.

*Spiral-bound manual, with a cover autographed by all the Leads on the Galaxies team, and a special surprise.

It all comes packaged in a pretty solid black box with the Star Wars Galaxies logo embossed on the cover and sides (I just saw the box today and it could hold all your old Star Wars RPG sourcebooks...).

We're still working on the price, but I wanted to let you know the contents, since we have those nailed down.

for the people that hate reading long posts they have anncouned what whould be in the Special Edition box for SWG and it sounds pretty good but they are still working on a price atm

*An art book that includes most of the concept art for the game, along with final screenshots. We also included film stills and art from other sources (like the comics) so you can see where we drew our inspiration - there are some cool studies of how we transformed creatures from the Ewok cartoons into something that would fit within our game. There's a lot of "behind the scenes" info in the text, and a great intro written by Lead Artist, Jake Rodgers.

*A pewter figurine depicting a female Zabrak adventurer. The figurine is based of in-game art, including wearables.

*A Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided sew-on patch.

*A Star Wars Galaxies lapel pin with Rebel and Imperial logos.

*A Collector's Edition manual that is signed by the whole team (and includes another special surprise).

And, based on your feedback, we've added:

*A special in-game wearable that can only be acquired through the Collector's Edition. The wearable will be one of three types of "eyewear." Note that we don't have any other eyewear in the game, and these wearables can't be traded, so they're exclusive to those who have the Collector's Edition. We've put concept art and screenshots for the eyewear here: http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/media/screenshots.jsp

Of course, the Collector's Edition will also include the game and a 30-day subscription, just like the regular version...

more info for you people on the Collector's Edition box
