Had to get a auto for my work neo as im on the phone too much, plus the city driving is a pain in the arse with the 6 speed. Yeah the bus is cool, next door neighbours. I knew this guy once who used to live with me, mum, dad and my sister and he lived in the bus. It was his room outside of the house and I busted up his alarm clock and I threw it over the fence so he wouldnt find out i did it. PSST dont tell sponge....

lets do it i willl win because i can baffle you peeps with more bullshit than you can imagine.
It makes me angry to hear ignorant car fans who say Ford are low quality. Consumer Reports had Ford labeled as the most reliable domestic car company. Also, on average, Ford has more powerful cars than Dodge, Infiniti, chevy, and more. Trust me, I looked it up.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha 'rice burners are gay'. Hmm yeah right - that's why they banned Nissans from the touring car circuit after the 1991/1992 debacle (for Australian cars), where you might remember Mark Skaife and others absolutely dominating every other vehicle, in R32 GTR Skylines. Not to mention the fact that my mate has an R34 GTR and it does a 12.1 second 1/4 mile and it is basically standard! Compare with a brand spanking new Falcon XR6 Turbo ute that was out at the drags last Saturday night that did a BEST time of 16.2 seconds ROFLMAO!!! Then there was the VX Clubsport R8 that was doing 14 second runs and he has his exhaust taken off and was running slick tyres. And then not to mention the fact that I went out in my 200SX 'rice burner' and did a best time of 13.42 seconds, and on one of the runs I lined up against a 308 VH Commodore race car with no exhaust, slicks, no seats/trim etc - and I was in street trim with street tyres, 40kg sub-box, spare tyre etc - and I beat him (albeit just) by 13.816 seconds to 13.865 seconds - AND that was with me completely missing 2nd gear!
Pfft slow V8 POS'!
btw nice car Podgie :) .... nothin meant against your new wheels mate - just a knee-jerk V8 tosser reaction :D .... your SS is da shit dude!!!
And every taxi driver I know swears by fords, as they ARE A LOT more reliable..
A mate of mine bought a new commodore ( a VS at the time ) as his taxi ( a nice berlina ), but he sold it within 100,00 kays as he was sick of it being off the road getting fixed..
Those are facts ppl, not uneducated opinions. I have spent a decade working for taxi and transport firms. And though I like holdens, the fords are more reliable..
So that fixed or repaired daily is utter BS. One of the owners of a limo company, whom I know gave his daughter a NA fairlane, cos it had gone oner a half a million kays, NO major repairs on it, and U know what 5 years later and another quarter of a million ckicks it is still purring along..
Show me ANY holden that is current that can run that long.. Its just not possible..
And re fitment of the panels and parts of the holdens ??
LMFAO @ U. I was a auditor for gmh from vn to vs inclusive, and I could fill pages of " known faults " in those cars.
Known faults are cockups in the car, that they either dont know how to, or cant be bothered fixing..
But having said that I bet ALL manufacturers haver the same sorta list..
Ford, holden, " rice burner " fanaticism is stupid.
Regardless of weather your a: Ford/Holden Mitsubishi/Toyota Turbo4 Ricer/V8 Bogan or Luxury/Sports car person, ANYTHING is better than getting the bus! So get in, sit down, shut up and hold on
I must admit my love of holdens was severley tested late last year when my vs threw a leg out of bed on the way back from adelaide...out in the middle of damn nowhere, where it costs $700 for a 100 km tow.
Ouch, just after I spent $5k on the damn thing too. Only had 102000 on the clock when it did it....V6 ecotec bulletproof bah!!!!! (And guess what - 3 months outside warranty to)
But like a stupid lovesick puppy, replaced it with a VX (mmm me likes this one,)
3vil, the new volvo's are a bloody nice car.. Nice choice of car mate.. They have long ago thrown the old sweedish tank nickname well and truely in the bin..
P-air, who says the eco's are bulletproof ??
Hell its still mechanically the same as the VN V6, which is in fact a old ( 1980 ) buick 221ci v6..
Back in 1980 the buicks had those engines, naturally aspirated and some came out with superchargers..
Only took holdens 20 years to catch up.. Hell when holdens first started using the old buick engines, they converted em to efi, and the fuel rails ( for the injectors ) were just welded copper tube ( have a look @ a series 1 VN )..
@ least with a vx now if U get a manual U get a getrag gearbox, the vn to vs gearboxes had real thrust bearing problems.
And the auto's all thru the whole range were TH700's and they are a good auto..
facts do speak for themselves however personal opinion is really all that matters to the individual, hell if i had the money id buy a gtr skyline too or supra but hey then again if i had the money id build a nice gt mustang too,
i could put down all the common faults falcons have seeing as i have worked for ford for around eight years but i cant type that long my fingers get sore, i do agree with sly in the taxi industry,
ne way yeah milenko it is the one you are thinking of, the exhaust gets to 1500 degrees celsius so the tunnel is ceramic plated with the same shyte they use in space shuttles, what a beast, although the new murchielago is nice too...............
hey, if you are happy with what you have...good on you.... if not then do something about it!!!
the next toy for me is gonna be a rice BIKE!!!!!!!
and yeah i was wondering where the second page went too......
Quote from Nightcrawler: Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha 'rice burners are gay'. Hmm yeah right - that's why they banned Nissans from the touring car circuit after the 1991/1992 debacle
ummm NO
The reason they banned Nissan......Along with every other 2L 4 Cil HOS is because Ford and Holden are the only 2 Manufacturers (spelling??) that make V8s in Australia.

your an idiot....16 seconds???? dont think so dick head, XR8 Turbos beat SS V8's for one.
its alot easier to boost the turbo if you have got an intercooler than it is to tweak a V8...... no exhaust, no seats, and slicks dont really do much if its running standard everything...which your car probably isnt.
V8's sound WAY better than rice burners....most rice burning owners are gay..like you, and think that nothing is better than their boosted 4 litre.
dood. Skylines are 1337. but its fags like you that know nothing about cars that makes me think how gay rice burners really are.
ever seen a rice burner beat a funnycar? or GT 40?. dont think so. and guess what they are V8s.
OMFG where do I start with you dickless wonder hErEtIc (1337 name writing skills you little faggot).
ummm I know nothing about cars hey? .... I'm willing to bet I've owned more cars than you've had girlfriends you tosser (your mum not included). Including the fact that I have owned a 250 Cortina and 13B bridgeport RX3 coupe. You need to check your facts poofter.
And yes, I was there at the drags watching the XR8t ute doing 16s .... were you there watching from the pits? No I didn't think so! Oh and a XR6t ute is quicker than a SS ooooh wow that is so fast - they almost break 15s. This ute couldn't get traction to save his life, hence the low ET.
And, like I also said the V8 I ran against was a fucken RACE CAR with no interior, exhaust etc .... not a road registered car in full street trim, like mine. Fuck, I'll take off my exhaust, cat converter, take out the interior, spare, stereo etc and then watch me easily break into the 12s. It is a unit of comparison you uneducated spitball.
And what's this about funny cars etc ROFL - you are talking about race-built drag cars vs street cars - WTF are you on?
Time you went down to the drags and had a look for yourself how these 2litre so-called 'Jap-crap toy cars' fare against 5.7litre V8s .... I cruise regularly with the LS1 (do you even know what an LS1 is?) car club here in Adelaide and we have dyno days, drags etc often so you could say I know these cars very well! In fact a mate was down the drags in his SS ute that is seriously worked and is 235rwkw and we were doing similar times .... but you have to remember he had approx 350kw at the flywheel. These mods cost him about $6,000, about the same I have spent on my car. And fyi you can't just 'turn up' a turbo .... do some research to learn what you are really talking about.
Time to grow up and face facts little boy. And when you have a mildly modified street car that you drive every day that does 13.4's come preach to me about how much you know and how little I do!
Well let me tell you all what I know about cars. F#*K ALL, thats right, but I can drive alright from past career. All I know is that this is my first OWNED V8 instead of flogging police cars in Perth to death so I enjoy the light rumble of my 5.7Ltr standard VX SS. So there. bluurrrrr *sticks out tongue*
You got to admit the next door neighbours bus looks cool too. Imagine doin road trip in that around aussie with friends and beer. Yeah baby yeah. What a party. Oh and you poofs can bring your spirits as well ;)
The plain reason FORDs are better Taxi's than Holden is because FORD release a TAXI pack on there FORDs were Holden do not. The reason Holden wont do it is because it devalues the car as there are more on the road. This was released in the recent RACQ magazine from a Holden and Ford director.

Just for your info.
Quite incorrect actually, as I said I was a Holdens quality auditor.. They have ALWAYS had a taxi pack..
Comes with column shift auto, and velour seats in the front and a vinyl seat in the back. Comes with long range fuel tank, and the same skid plates under the engine and fuel tank that the BT1 ( police pack ) cars come with. Also in the list is country suspension V7P( heavy duty ) and V8 brakes on the six ( also same as the cop cars ).
Basically the BT1 pack and the taxi pack ( A9T ) are the same, but the BT1 pack has the console lid removed as standard, and the auto shifter is modified so it will go into second gear without lifting the shifter button ( for want of a better word for it ). Also the taxi's got std height heavy duty suspension, where all cop cars get a 2 inch lowering job ( FE2 ).
Both packs get air con and V8 brakes as std..
Holdens have always had a taxi pack option.. And I dont care what info that says otherwise, as I know its wrong..
If Lataf or Spongy can read the body plate in the engine bay of this cars @ work, and print them here, I will decode them all..
There are roughly 200 option codes in the holden range, and I know all of em. But my memory of the actual codes are a lil rusty now, but I will remember what they all mean if I see em again..
I had to know all of em.
But honestly, Holdens have always had taxi packs. Sorry to have to prove U wrong old buddy, but thems da facts.

I will offer this bit of info.
You may have a fast car, but my busted arsed XR6 Police car along with my driving skill and style is particulary designed to ensure you over drive yourself so you crash.
Then Im there with my big baton and handcuffs.
If that fails I have a 40 CAL Glock which Im sure unless your car can travel at 400 metres per second, you will fail to outrun.
If you have a fast car, I get to drive it back to the wach house and when I get there I will tell you how fast it actually does go. Oh and that is gear by gear and rev by rev.
Just last week a fellow complimented me on getting his brand new Ford Falcon GHIA to go faster than 200 kph and managed to get the engine revs past 11000 rpm. Amazing what can be achieved with the stereo turned up full boar.
Now as for cars that stand out and are fine machines...
Nothing will beat my WB Holden One Tonne Ute..
Oh and Exodus, that trycycle is a fine peice if machinery. My wasnt as fast as yours as mine was blue, not red, and had a handlebar basket.
Dont worry about Sponge's threat about the gloch. I challenged him already in a semi-auto pistol comp and kicked his arse (I had his mate there to verify) sponge couldnt hit shit with his gloch if he worked at a sewerage farm
Actually, all this Ford n Holden stuff... this is interesting for our aussie race
The Magna is designing a V8 rear wheel drive to sell in Australia by 2006, and will also be making a SuperCar Team. This will be a good note for new compitition, mainly because i support ford nor holdern, because which ever is more popular make the other car cheaper for my first car :)
Hey Sponge does the Police Force use hidden Valley for your driver training and stuff? If so I got a couple of questions for ya.
I see them down there often, usually pushing the car as hard as they can, sliding all of the track etc etc. What are they actually doing? By the looks of it they were learning car control (understeer and oversteer)? Can you shed more light on why and what they do down there?
Quote: along with my driving skill and style is particulary designed to ensure you over drive yourself so you crash. Im not doubting you at all, but surely someone who has a faster car, has done the defensive and advanced courses, hell may even race cars would have a similar maybe even skill and style. Whats to say they wont get away and obviously you cant overdrive em? How do you guys go about stopping them? road trap? Just curious to know what you do in this case, cos honstly speaking there may be someone mroe skilled etc etc.
I guess the gun would work although wouldnt you have to shoot while in a high speed moving car, cos if you stopped then shot by that time the speeding car will be long gone. Just a thought.
Ouch 11k rpm on a Falcon Ghia, errr yeah.
Please dont dis me for this Sponge - just trying to learn some things here, just curious for most of it.
Quote from SpongeBobSquarePants: having driven a extreme wide range of vehicles from Mini Cooper S to the god damn Porsche Carrera Turbo
Sorry, if your being sarcastic i've failed to pick it up, but was the Porche Carrera Turbo the most enjoyable (not neccessarily the most performing) car you've ever driven ?
Jono - you should come with me to do the Advanced driving course at the end of the year. should be ... err.. fun :)
oh and i can answer your questions: (if i'm not stealing sponge's thunder :P)
1. yes they are learning car control - understeer/oversteer , push/pull steering, handbrake (not very often though), reversing etc. 2. they ensure it by having radios, ie getting in front of them and cutting them off. they also have road spikes (one set i believe) if they lose them - they usually have enough details on the car to get them later anyway... this doesn't usually happen though. 3. they don't shoot at you... *cough* but then again i don't know sponge personally ;)
i've probably missed something here so feel free to add/edit what i have said sponge/lataf/ebola 8)
Yeah mate, thats basically correct. We learning driving at advanced speed in straights and turns, with and without abs, speed weaving, reverse turns, emergency braking, vehicles movements when stable and unstable, wet, dry and slippery conditions and a bit about each car, as im sure your aware that for example, a holden drives differntly to a FORD. Police usually come off best in pursuits because we use other police vehicles to block, force u in a particular direction on/off the road, road spikes which i have used personally on a number of occasions, flashing lights/sirens which believe it or not, at high speed, high stress, alcohol and night time, become rather daunting and cause errors to less experienced and sometimes even very experienced drivers. Obviously a lot of people get driving experience through time, age, stealing cars and getting in chases, learning on farms, outback, racing etc etc. the list goes on. Police just do the best they can with there skills, the back up thats available and when i was in W.A. police, the use of our road spikes AND our 24 hour police helicopter with full range of night infra red etc etc. U WONT GET AWAY. Many have tried, the helo gets u, its all over...
